(upbeat music) <v Announcer>Cars.com auto review. (upbeat music) Hi, this is Joe Bruzek from cars.com. This is the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.
Now if you find yourself thinking, oh, hey, that regular Gallardo, it's $200,000, but not exotic enough, well, this is the answer. (upbeat music) Superleggera means super light, and Lamborghini primarily does that on the Gallardo through the use of carbon fiber. You got carbon fiber on the mirror, down here, and then around back, we've got this unique fixed carbon fiber wing, carbon fiber engine cover and deck lid, and carbon fiber rear diffuser. (upbeat music) That carbon fiber lightweight trend carries over on the inside. Door panels are carbon fiber. There's just the little strap here. There's no actual grip to grab onto. Steering wheel, dashboard, center console, even the seats are lightweight racing seats made out of carbon fiber. This adjustability, that's all they do. Everything else is fixed. (upbeat music) In addition to the light weight, the Superleggera adds 10 more horsepower. That's enough talking, let's go for a ride. (engine revving) There's no question that this is a super car. It's loud on the inside. It's pretty bumpy. You can feel every bump that this car hits. There's no give. But it doesn't matter. I mean, this thing. (engine revving) The Superleggera does not like to be driven at slow speeds. When you first take off, it's a little clunky, a little chattery. And when you shift to let's say, a quarter throttle, just trying to get up to 35, 40 miles an hour, it's a delayed shift. And just doesn't feel really, really confident. But none of that matters, because this car is not supposed to be driven at slow speeds. The Superleggera commands a $35,000 premium over the regular Gallardo. To put it in perspective, that's about the cost of a G37 sedan. So what would you take? The G37 sedan and a regular Gallardo, or the Superleggera? I would take this.
