(gentle music) Hi, I'm Mike Hanley with cars.com and I'm here with the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. And today I'm going to walk you through some of the cars high-tech features.
One of the new features of the Mercedes-Benz C class is that it now has this electronic controller in the middle of the center console. It's similar to the system used on Mercedes-Benz's S class and CL class models. And it also takes a page from BMW and Audi, which both have systems similar to this one. The one nice thing about Mercedes system is that its menus and navigational elements are the easiest to use of any of these knob based controllers. This model shown with the optional seven inch LCD display. That's part of the optional multimedia package, and the screen can motor in and out of the dashboard. And as you can see here, it's response to inputs from the center control knob on the console. (car engine roaring) Included with the optional multimedia package is a Harman Kardon audio system that can play movies when the car is stationary. and it plays them on the seven inch flip up screen and the surround sound that the system has is pretty amazing. It's very lifelike and real, and it's a nice way to pass the time, if you're stuck in traffic. The C class can also come with a iPod adapter and, it's located in the glove box. So you can store your iPod out of sight. So no one else will see it. If you want to leave it in your car. And it plugs in through the rectangular connector at the bottom of the iPod. And once connected, you can store it in there, like I said, and from that point, you have complete control over your iPod from steering wheel controls, you can access the menus on an iPod, go through playlists, artists, and it also keeps it charged while it's playing music.
