Transcript

Hi, I'm Patrick Olsen, managing editor for cars.com, and this is a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. The new minivans come with three different engine levels. There's the 3.3 liter engine, with a four speed automatic transmission. There's a 3.8
liter engine, that has a six speed transmission. And then there's the big boy of the bunch, it's the 4.0 liter V6, also with a six speed transmission. Those engines help make for a smooth ride in this minivan. Unlike a lot of minivans that I've driven, the Town and Country has very little role or lean, whether you're on suburban streets or driving on mountain roads. When suburban moms and dads think about driving minivans, one of the things they don't often think about is quiet. Because frankly, up till now minivans have not been very quiet. The one thing that Chrysler has done with this minivan, is they've made it very quiet. We're traveling down an interstate about 65 miles an hour, and things are pretty quiet. There's not a lot of road noise. There's almost no engine noise at all. Now if we have to punch it to pass a car or to go up a steep hill, then we can hear that sort of a low growl, but otherwise it's pretty quiet. The key thing when you've got kids, especially small kids, and you've got them asleep. The last thing you want is the van to wake them up. <v Announcer>For additional information on this car, or any others, go to cars.com and our blog Kicking Tires.
