Offered for sale is a striking 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, a performance-oriented sedan that represented the pinnacle of the Grand Prix lineup in its era. This particular example is a two-owner Grand Prix, has covered only 37,366 miles since new, and is finished in an elegant Stealth Gray Metallic exterior paired with an Ebony interior featuring leather-appointed seating. As the most powerful factory-built front-wheel-drive Pontiac of its time, the GXP stands out with engineering, design, and equipment that set it far apart from the more common V6 and GTP models, making it an especially sought-after variant among enthusiasts. While GM did not record production numbers by trim, it is widely believed that GXPs were produced in significantly lower quantities than their six-cylinder counterparts, adding to their exclusivity.

At the heart of the GXP is the 5.3-liter LS4 V8 engine, delivering an impressive 303 horsepower and 323 lb-ft of torque. This all-aluminum small-block was the first V8 offered in a Grand Prix since 1987 and the first Pontiac equipped with Displacement on Demand (DOD) technology, allowing the engine to seamlessly deactivate four cylinders under light load for improved fuel efficiency. Engineered specifically for a front-wheel-drive layout, the LS4 features a shortened crankshaft, a compact accessory drive, and optimized packaging to fit transversely in the Grand Prix chassis. Coupled with a Hydra-Matic 4T65-E four-speed automatic transmission with TAPShift manual shift control, the GXP delivers strong, confident acceleration and responsive performance while offering the driver fingertip gear selection when desired.

The GXPs handling package was tuned to match its power, with Bilstein gas-charged struts, higher-rate springs, a reduced ride height, and a 17.2-mm hollow rear stabilizer bar for sharper turn-in and reduced body roll. One of the GXPs most distinctive engineering touches is its staggered wheel setup 18-inch polished forged aluminum wheels with wider fronts than rears a configuration designed to improve front-end grip, stability, and braking performance. Bringing it to a stop is a high-performance four-wheel disc brake system with vented and cross-drilled rotors paired with aluminum calipers and twin-piston front units for strong, fade-resistant braking.

This car is great, its comfortable, fast, and the V8 Can get up and go. However, compared to more modern cars, the Poniac 2006 GXP V8 shows its age, My car cant accelerate as quickly as more modern cars. But its still a solid car. The most major issue with the GXP is the tires and suspension. This car is apparantly designed to drive on Perfectly Smooth roads. Which is great if you live in a Gated Community somehwere houses are $500,000 each and everybody is perfectly blonde. However, I prefer more 'All-Terrain' vehicles compared to 'high-preformance but extremely delicate.' I'll compare the 2 cars I've owned: Jeep 1996 Grand Cherokoo Laredo Extremely Tough, can go anywhere, I can drive over curbs easily. Poniac 2006 Is more like Princess and the Pea. If I hit a Gravel Rock, the whole car will feel it. The Jeep, can go anywhere on Earth basically. The Poniac, Hit a Curb? Need a New Rim, the whole cars missaligned and tires need rebalanced, and now the Tires going flat. Hit a pothole in the Jeep, no problem, keep driving. In the Poniac, Now everything needs re-alligned, rim is damaged, etc. Just as an example. ^ The Poniac is reliable, its just extremely sensitive and needs perfect roads. The Jeep is all-terrain, durable, and strong. I'd drive my Jeep anyday if I could. Considered I got my Jeep for $5k, then put $5k in upgrades/repairs, Id get it again anyday. The Poniac was $32k new, and is just extremely sensative.

This car is fun to drive. It's fast with a good V8 sound. It has very good street manners. Good ride in the rough but will hug a corner like a vette.

Most reliable vehicle I've owned, ever.

I think Pontiac could've continued making money with this model for some time. Mine is nicely equipped with: 16" alloy wheels, ABS, Traction control, cruise control, all power options including the driver seat and mirrors. It has a good sounds system with controls on the steering wheel and leather wrapped steering wheel. This car is very competent and reliable. I've owned it for nearly a year, nearly 27k miles and needs were merely oil changes, tire rotation and gas. Oh, and the annual safety inspection which it passed without repairs needed. We just crossed the 170k Mike mark over the weekend, and she's running strong!
