Used Porsche 911 for sale under $25,000 near me

I flew to San Jose, California 3/1/22 and bought a used 2000 Cabriolet, one owner, 54k miles. I drove down Pacific Coast Hwy over 2 days. To LA area and tooled around for a week. Had it inspected by a Porsche restorer who gave it 👍🏻👍🏻. Drove to Las Vegas through Death Valley with top down. After a couple of days drove to Phoenix. Spent several days running on desert roads. Then spent 6 days driving back to SC. Went through “Tail of Dragon” 5 times. I named the car the “Beast”. I love it and I’m a car guy but never had a car like this. Drove it 4500 miles in 18 days. Would recommend highly.

Have never been to a dealership that listened more closely and spent lots of time helping me get both the vehicle I wanted and the best financing. I did not have a typical credit situation. A friend was commuting in LA traffic, finally decided he really needed a commuting car. So he agreed to sell it to me. i'm retired but volunteer in places and cross town regularly to co-sign checks at a non-profit. The Porsche was my "daily driver" for the last seven years without incident. The car is docile when driven gently but the 6 cylinder engine can really open up when called on. It's got Porsche handling. i showed it to an acquaintance who wasn't very familiar with Porsches and he couldn't get over the solid "thunk" when you close the door. Porsche brought out its first water-cooled engine in 1999 with this model - the "996" 911. Mine was manufactured late the following year. Worth round about $20,000 now - with about 51,000 miles on it - it's a truly classic car for a fraction of the new price. i've loved owning it.

I like pretty much everything about the car with a few exceptions. No glove box, so interior storage is limited. no cup holders not only for drinks,but change etc . The caps that cover the holes where the hard top fastens at the rear fasten poorly and are not cheap to replace. The plastic rear window will be updated soon, as will the ignition switch. The car runs well, comfortable, and seeing that the clutch, IMS bearing, and rear seal has been all updated, I'm confidant of the engine. Great car for the money spent, people can't believe it's nearly 20 yrs. old. I hope to have it for a long time. He also gave me great advice on what to do with the vehicle in terms of restoration work that would save me money and time in the long run, while still making sure I would get the best work done on the vehicle. The 911 is the ultimate sports car. It has that type of ride but it will almost pin you to the seat in any gear or speed. The manual shows it topping out at 178. I took It to Midtown Motorwerks and they went through it and everything has been taken care of, all fluids flushed. Too much to list. If you want a 911 you truly won't need to do anything for a while, this is it. Great car I just got another one.

I bought 2011 Honda Pilot EX in 2016 from East Coast Auto Source. It had bullet holes in the body and some shot out windows. I repaired the bullet holes, and had the other repairs completed. Car ran well and it needed some other work. Nine years later, we have 211,000 more miles on the Pilot. It was a good price and East Coast Auto Source was upfront and honest about the repairs and had the car shipped to my mechanic. I would bought another car in 2024 from them and I am happy with the deal.

I have had my '02 base 6 speed manual Carrera Coupe for about 5 years. It was a car I had checked out, but my wife bought for my 50th. I love the car. I do some "spirited drives" with a great group of folks early Sunday mornings (when the back roads are pretty empty). The car is just a blast to drive hard. I have never come close to finding its limits in terms of cornering. It can be driven quite sedately if you keep it under about 4,000 RPMs. Fine around town. Stop and go traffic is obviously a pain with any manual car, but the clutch is a little stiffer than, say, a Honda. Road trips are fine if you can fit, and it's a bit noisy on the highway from tire noise. I was interested in the 911 over a used Cayman (or Miata, etc.) because I can put my kids in the back (they are 4 and 7, and they LOVE pulling "g-forces" The main downside is this is a 22 year old car with a list of things that really need to be replaced. Not because they are broken, but just standard maintenance. I need a transmission rebuild to fix an occasional issue with 2nd gear. Rear main seal. Check the IMS bearing. Water pump. Then the suspension and engine mounts probably need to be gone over. All this is probably $12,000-$15,000. Bottom line, these 996 911s can be had for mid-20's, but it's still a Porsche. You don't get Honda-priced parts when you need to replace something.

I bought my 1999 996 in early 1999. I love the styling and it drives like a dream. A daily drive for me these days with 85000 miles. The clutch was replaced after 50000 miles and I have the oil changed every 3000 miles. My mechanic has been taking care of it for over 20 years now. I asked about the IMS issue and am told there is no evidence of any problem. If you stay ahead of maintenance you will have the best automobile you could ever own.

I love this car. It's a classic 911 only the Cabriolet, Porsche's term for convertible and I thought I'd never own a convertible but when you pull out on the interstate going through the gears with the top down, it's just PORSCHE... Take a turn here or there with no one around and you realized you have allot of true race car in your car. Today you can get a deal on one, just watch for little things, parts can be pricey but you pay for the ride and few could pass you.

rhe right car for cruising on the freeway, having fun on the mountain roads and along the coast Hwy. Oh, that powerful sound of the exhaust when I accelerate and on downshift. A lot bettter balance and handling than the other two 911s that I had.

This is a great car for pretty much anything. It will even dirve good in snow days. It will perform well with keeping it on 3rd gear on the curvie roads of western north carolina.

A very sexy ride, ..but. A very stiff and rough ride. Every crack, or bump, or tar stripe on the pavement will be felt and heard. I can't imagine and won't try a "road trip" in this car. For those, we'll take the DeVille! That said, the car is fulfillment of an adult lifetime of "someday" dreams.

Great and fun , I am taking care of a few maintenance issues , which I expected with it being an 18 year old car . I am upgrading the shocks and struts and replacing a leaky water pump . Other than that no issues.

I've really enjoyed this car. But be careful on your purchase, to be sure all the required maintenance is up to date, including the needed IMS Bearing retrofit. Don't be fooled, you will spend around $22k for 996 that is in solid working shape.

My 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera (996) is an example of German engineering at its finest. The known IMS bearing issue was taken care of, allowing me to have no reservations about driving the car anywhere. Although it's not a turbo model, the car performs like it's made for racing. The Spanish word 'Carrera' translates to 'race'. When you put the car thru its paces you know why it is named such.

I'm a proud owner of my 2001 911 cabriolet. Its in mint condition and looks like new which is a tribute to the quality of this car. I have done all required maintenance and it runs as good as new. At 58k miles It doesn't feel like it needs a clutch but when it does I will do the IMS as preventative maintenance. I've owned 3 other porsches including a 1967 911s which I loved and should have kept, but hands down this 2001 is a far better engineered car. Its faster, handles better, more luxurious, safer. Its no comparison to previous generations! I'm keeping this one for good! If you can find a well maintained 911 and take care of it you too will feel the love and appreciation for this 911 model. Its definitely one of the best values you'll find. Oh, and I love the 917 style headlights on my 911. I get where were going when they designed this model. Classic!

Bought this 01 996 as a retirement gift to myself 2 years ago. It’s an awesome car and it’s as much fun to drive as brand new 911. Not cluttered with high tech electronics it’s a simple blood and guts manual transmission sports car. It has nearly as much torque (259 lb feet) as horsepower (300). It might be the last affordable 911. FYI the IMS issue is overblown but that’s only my opinion. It checked off one of the top boxes on my bucket list. I’ll never sell this wonderful car,my kids can fight over it when I earn my wings. And it will be worth the fight to the winnner!
