The purpose of this note is to express my appreciation to Gerald Honda of Countryside for their accommodation to my wife and me in the purchase of our new 2025 Honda Pilot EX-L. We drove past Gerald Honda on La Grange Road and saw the demolished showroom, replaced with a tent and a small sign saying open during construction. After recent knee problems, walking around a dealership would be difficult to impossible. I called the sales phone number and explained my situation and requested a sales person to bring a Pilot EX-L to our residence for a look over and test drive. A few minutes later, I received a return call from Steve Browner asking more specifically the features I am looking for. In a short while, Steve arrived at our home with a car close to my description. We looked it over and both of us had an opportunity to drive it. We were interested in this car but it didn’t have a roof rack or a trailer hitch. Steve assured us that Gerald was capable to install both options. We completed the purchase negotiation with Steve over the phone that afternoon with the roof rack being installed for delivery at noon the next day. The trailer hitch needed to be ordered and it was installed within a week. The vehicle runs great & is great on mpg too. My only dissatisfaction is that the CarPlay does not hold in its memory. In the 3 weeks I have owned, I've tried at least a dozen times but it does not stay in sync with my iPhone the next time I restart the car. Now I have to make a special appt with dealer service to fix this. Big waste of my time!! Did not expect this from Honda.
