I have a 2005 dakota that I purchased new. I love it. 18 years of owning it. I have had very few issues. I use for hauling and recently I have been using it for highway driving. It just works. It's nothing fancy in fact it's kind of utilitarian. But I does everything I need it to do. I do maintain it well. but I have only had minor issues. The fuel mileage is not great but it's a truck.

Iv owned this 2001 dodge dakota 4.7 quad cab 5 speed manual for about 6.5 years great truck has about 300670 miles original motor transmission different transfer case but lasted for 225k before it split into It pulls my boat and take it cross country at least 2 times a year Best investment iv made in my life

bought this truck an found it to be very reliable i don't understand the one hate comment on it they probably don't take good care of it but overall the trucks worth it an i plan on keeping it an giving it to a family member once i die its got over 213,477 thousand miles on it, its getting 25 miles per gallon its 4x4 five speed automatic but i want to switch it to manual an same thing for the 4x4 nob love the upper center console computer i would get the higher end radio head to be honest but imma keep it original its got the 4.7 liter flex fuel v8 in it i can fit six in the cab though i wish it had a long bed instead of a short bed though i need to replace the front axles the grind in four wheel drive when i steer to the left an replace all the tyres

Meet up with Pedro salesman at the store. Showed me the car. Offered me coffee / something to drink. Walked in this fabulous showroom. It’s a wow moment. I sat I very comfy lounge chair like. Pedro walked to the managers booth I say to my self omg here comes the game dealers will tire you out. The waiting game!!!!! But nope Pedro was back in less than 5 mins. Showed me numbers and we were almost done in less than 10 mins. It was very fast and straight to the point. I asked for a purchase copy to bring to my credit union and I was done in less than 30 mins. That’s record breaking experience. You guys do very good customer service!!! Hats off also to Rueben sales mgr. Came out to talk to me just to make sure that everything was okay. I left that wonderful showroom feeling good. I said to myself that’s the first time I’m leaving a dealership that I don’t have to take TUMS. If you’re in the market of buying a car I definitely give these place a 777 grade! It's a great and good riding and fun to drive I however have been having problems when changing the rear brakes pads especially on the drivers side, and the emergency rear brake cable as well, other wise it's a pretty reliable truck, when commuting or hauling things, do need a new years wifi ,cd , am/fm radio.

I've had my 05 dakota 3.7 quad cab for about a year and I have put 16000 miles on it without a problem I have found that it likes the finer fuel in life and premium gas ain't cheap!

I had my 04 dakota advertised for sale, still very reliable, but I wanted four doors. While I waited to sell it, I kept my finger on the pulse of the "Dakota Market" by monitoring, Cars.com. I had two or three of these located not far away for over eight months. When the time came I sold with confidence, made a 300 mile road trip on the fourth of July, and purchased the Dakota on the fifth. Great value! More power than the 04 (same engine), better mileage, better handling, handles my camper trailer better, I love this truck!!

Not a lot of room in cab but over 400000 and still going strong and starts every time . Pulls great even when overloaded. I would recommend this truck with the 3.9L motor to anyone

My wife and I were approved for a $6,000 auto loan and went shopping around. It’s a great truck. Very cheap to fix when it needs to be. It breaks down all the time because it’s had multiple owners in the past. But that’s MY truck. Yours may be great. Mine is okay. Very very worn out. But it still runs good when it decides it wants to work.

This my 2nd Dodge Dakota, I would recommend another one to anyone who wants manual truck. My 1st was 1997 Dodge Dakota, I actually prefer the 97 style to the 2006 model, this year would make my truck 26 yrs old. Still on the road, just has a few maintenance issues, still planning on keeping my 97, gonna put it in the shop for some TLC. I guess what I am trying to say is that the Dodge corporation made one xxxx of a truck, I believe that if the 2006 last as long as my 97, then this will be my last truck. Nothing better than shifting gears with the windows rolled down, going 60 mph.

Its a great truck, good sound system, simple interior design, a lot of room. Great for commuting or for hauling items, the only issue that I can think of is that its a bit short.

I love my Dakota! They can pull more than what they are rated for, the 3.9L V6 sounds great, they are tough, and it's never left me stranded, the interior is simple and comfortable, it has some cool fetures for its age like a built in engine light decoder, and Cruze control that adapts to hills, and it has never needed major engine work. The one drawback is it has poor fuel economy around 16MPG, notorious for rust, and the automatic are reportedly very flaky (idk how bad I got the 5 speed NV3500). Overall Its a great truck and can make a great first vehicle!

We have a 2001 Dodge, 2001 Dodge Dakota, 2007 Dodge Dakota & 2008. Dakotas were made good & 2 Run A Long Time! We Had A Friend That had a Dodge That had At least 300,000 the truck is here but he isnt anymore.

This truck was in my brother's driveway just rusting away on two flat tires, amongst other issues. He said it was a good little truck, but it needed some work. I took it off of his hands, and got that baby repaired. She rides smooth, the seat is comfortable, and I am happy with my little get around town pick up. I also like the extra seating area in the cab for three small people. Her body is a little rusty, but we all get a few wrinkles with age. Overall, very dependable.

After doing a lot of searching we finely found our new car...The dealership worked with us and made it happen...So far we are happy with how things have went so far.....Hope for everything to all go through

This truck meet all my needs but a car or suv is better since I have grand kids to take to school events.

My experience with these trucks are good because I had one in the family since it was new and it has been trough xxxx and back! They are very reliable. But they suck in the winter with snow due to no weight in the rear. Id recommend it it's fun to drive but in snow id recommend it to a more experienced driver.

This was a very reliable truck! Still is! It can go forever! Given the age it's more of a worktruck or starter truck but will take you where you need to go.
