Sporty fun to drive Car that is simple and elegant

The 2.0 Turbo offer the performance of a V6 but the gas mileage of a 4 cylinder. Plenty of room for 5 adults and an interior design of higher priced cars

Luxury wagon without the high price tag

This is my fourth Volkswagen, and it?s the best own I?ve yet to own. The ride is much smoother and quieter than the Jetta Sportwagen. This was the last year VW made the Passat wagon in Germany and it is truly a fine example of German engineering. Tight steering and top end acceleration that?s Autobahn ready.

Great buy

Only thing I don't like is that the radio phone sync only works with apple products. Other than that it's a good car.

Wish I still owned this car!!!!

I really enjoyed this vehicle! The only downside was that it took premium gas and the tank is huge so it took about $50 to fill the car up.

Love this car, best rideing car ever

We love our car. Comfortable riding, great on gas. Beautiful body and interior. The price was right on the money. The only thing it did not come with a owners manual or floor mats.

Most reliable car I have owned

This car meets my expectations. With the 2.0 T it can really pick up. Plenty of leg room leather seat with the seat warmers are amazing. The seats have the lumbar feature which puts the comfort of this car way up there.

Passat Wagon hauls it all!

Owned since it was less than 1 year old. Really love owning a somewhat "rare" vehicle as they do not make/export Passat Wagons for the US market any more. Shame since my car hauls more stuff than our X5, and much more reliably as well. Gets fairly decent gas mileage for a 9 year old vehicle...definitely not comparable to same sized vehicle today. Power is more than adequate for FWD car. Handles quite well so long as speeds are kept below 105 mph, above that the aerodynamics fail and car gets light in the steering. Fortunately, that is one of the only quibbles, aside from the fact that it did not come with ventilated seats, those would have been quite nice. Anyway, the trunk also shuts with serious force, so beware if sensitive occupants are already seated inside. I do try to manually ease it down the last 6" before it slams shut, so that really helps. Design is solid, inside and out. Newer wagons are more rakish in the rear, but that infringes on their utility while only making them look sleeker. I love the body crease that is echoed in the interior. Lovely sweeping arch extends from front doors all the way around dashboard, subtle and lovely. The well-bolstered, faux-leather seats are wonderfully bulletproof and comfortable. I suppose it would be nice to have them with memory settings, but again this is a minor gripe since I'm the driver about 98% of the time anyway. Quite reliable 2.0T engine as well. Really no mechanical issues of note (knock-on-wood). Solid German engineering/build quality.

Worst vehicle I've ever owned!!

Have had this car for almost 5 yrs and had to replace the engine not once but is back in the shop looking at another engine. Apparently, something about this particular car the engines mess up around 40,000 miles and has to be replaced - not doing this a second time!! I will never own another Passat everrr.
