Great midsized car!! Quiet and fun to drive

I'm impressed by VW! They made a very nice quiet sedan that's fun to drive too! And inexpensive to repair. Great value for the money.

Good first car, but expect some fixing.

My very first car I found for a very good price. However, former owner did not take great care of it. Aside from that, the door locks are not well made and tend to break to where the doors won't lock and need to be replaced. Wiring for replacing the radio (specifically to a new touch-screen) drain its battery and require proper wiring adapters. Overall, good car with some small issues needing replacements.

Looks are deceiving

This car has cost me nothing but money since I bought it. I bought my 2007 VW Jetta 2.5 in August of 2015. It had approximately 77,000 miles on it. Since I bought it I had to replace ignition switch $600, get a rebuilt transmission $3,000, the windows on the drivers side stopped working, the trunk does not open unless I climb through the back seat, the electrical problems never end! The car stalls almost everytime I get gas, the gas guage works 25% of the time, and sometimes at red lights the car will just shut off. These cars are expensive pieces of garbage.

watch out for cv axle

the 2007 vw jetta I bought for my daughter doesn't have automatic lights, it has interior wiring issues, not all of the doors lock, and I took it to my brother who is a mechanic to get the front cv joints replaced. they are so rust seized he hasn't been able to remove them for over a month. he just ordered $500 of wedges and specialty tools to try and remove them from the transmission.

Great car and valuable standard features

I bought a Jetta as a second car and I'm shocked at how well the car performs and the value of it due to some of the standard features. The sound system, turn signal indicators in the mirrors, aux input even in the 2007. The engine runs extremely smooth and the clutch has a very smooth feeling as well - very different than any other metric car clutch. It has a solid feel on the road and copes with bumps much better than expected. Average amount of road noise for a sedan at 78Db at 65 mph.

Best Engine ever

Volkswagen 2.5 pzv engine is super reliable. Great power without compromising the gas efficiency. Excellent car for college students and daily commuters. The only complaint is the car space is limited. However, it is a valued car for the money
