Despite the scary looking recalls my 2023 AWD Pro-s model

Despite the scary looking recalls my 2023 AWD Pro-s model has been 99.9% reliable. In comparison to my previous 2021 ID.4 pro-s which had several annoying system failures that necessitated immediate trips to the dealership. However the 2021 pro-s has the folding mirror option which I had expected to get in the 2023 pro-s but was very dissatisfied to learn it had been remover and put in the ‘+’ package. The mirror option should be offered as a standalone upgrade to all non ‘+’ 2023 and 2024 models as no $50k plus car should be without it.

Think about this VW ID.4 2023 or 2024

2023 VW ID.4 PRO S. 1 year this July of 24, 16000 miles. Before the latest software update of 3.1 or 3.5 we could the full state of charge was 300 Miles. After the update, the max SOC dropped to 253. But many software problems were fix. The 12V battery is stronger than the 2021 (they were updated later). Fast charge to 80% is 35 minutes or less. I charge at home in Arizona we have solar with SUNRUN. We installed a 50amp this provides us with using WALLBOX 11kw so for example, today Apr 8, 2024. to charge at home from 18% SOC to 80% took rounding up 3 hours. Not bad. March Electicy bill was $40. No expense for fuel and money saved.

Great car so far!

We love this car! Comfortable, simple, quick. It even has a back massager on both seats! So far it has been all we could have wanted.

Great value the public is yet to discover.

After 9 months and 19,000 miles including 5 road trips, I have no buyer’s remorse at all! I love this car. Charging speed is good. The most comfortable car seats I’ve ever sat in. Build quality is rock solid. Very smooth and quiet on the highway. Lots of standard features at a reasonable price. Travel Assist works great, I use it all the time. Efficiency averaging 4 mi/kWh. I don’t know why VW isn’t advertising these like crazy. It’s one of the best values in the EV market today.

Outstanding car!

I have had a great experience with my ID.4 thus far! The instant torque, interior design and lighting, the easy viewpoints for both my 6’2” husband and my 5’3” frame. The AWD is VERY responsive and I thoroughly enjoy driving in any kind of weather. The only thing I don’t like is that the charging port doesn’t always release the charging cable so I have to use the release handle located in the cargo area infrequently.

Teutonic excellence built in Tennessee

I have the 2023 ID.4 only a short time, but I am impressed. It performs better than I hoped for. No buyer's remorse here. Very comfortable, quiet ride, everything works perfect, no issues. Changed from a 2018 Tiguan I loved to the ID.4---I drive only app. 400-500 Miles /month so an EV works perfect for me.

Great Value

It’s awesome! I had 5 Mercedes in a row and bought this ID4 because I wanted an EV. It has been awesome so far. Very very quiet! And comfortable. With a great audio system. And I will NEVER go to a gas station again! The one issue is VW has chosen to NOT provide charging cables. No idea why. They hit you up for $350 to buy them. Meanwhile my wife bought a Mach E and Ford includes them as part of the purchase. Go figure. But I love the car!

Terrible ac and battery recall trouble

Ac doesn't work well in summer. VW HAS A BATTERY RECALL that we can't get an appt for. Customer service is horrible. Not worth the money, I own a Nissan leaf EV and it's much better.

ID.4 so far so good

As an engineer, I can understand some buyer's complaints with respect to the UI and software operations. However, I find the ID.4 easy to operate and fun to drive for an SUV. It's not flashy or over the top, but it does a great job at what I bought it for - transportation. I think all EVs are overpriced but I'm an early adopter and willingly paid. Unlike many others, I have no axe to grind with Tesla, Kia, Chevy, Ford or any other EV maker. Drive what you like and don't make it some weird "I'm right" war of words.
