All Around Performer

Purchased a 2007 CrewMax Limited 4x4 5.7L and now have 65,000 miles on it. This truck has really held up mechanically as well as resale value. We've owned several other trucks, including domestics, so there is a good knowledge base for evaluation. The impressive features are the drive train performance and reliability, road manners, tight turning radius for its size, and large passenger area. Also love the power back glass. This truck still feels as tight as it was at 6,500 miles. No issues. Only replaced tires. Not so crazy about the interior style and dash layout. Seems there could have been a better use of all that space. Couldn't get a column shifter with the Limited trim level, which reduces seating to 5 maximum. Another downer is the 5.5' bed as the only configuration with the CrewMax. Was just looking at a new F150 and Ram 1500. The Tundra still holds its own, even though it's in it's 5th year of production. Engine performance is still right up there. 6 speed transmission is still as good as it gets. You can't get a bigger cab in any other brands, unless you go to a 3/4 ton, and only in the Dodge. Interior is looking cheap next to the Ford and especially Dodge, but this is a great truck overall.

nice 4x4

The exterior has great agressive truck styling. The interior is very roomy and well laid out. It has a decent ride..very truck like. My last gas check was half city, half hwy. was 17 mpg. A little better milage would be welcomed. One main reason for purchasing this truck was the Toyota quality. This truck can do about anything you ask it to. This is an extended cab truck and you should with this and any other truck measure your garage to make sure it will fit.

Switched from domestic trucks

Super truck, incredible power, tows with ease, still a few things the Japanese need to learn about building a full size truck, but after my recent BAD experiences with Ford and Chevy, I can live with and learn to love this truck! See the many Tundra forums for some good insights on the few negatives, but test drive and decide... You will see.

07 Toyota Crew Max Limited Tundra

I love this truck, it looks great and feels great. I don't think I could get anymore items on a truck. I got the TRD dual exhaust, the back up camera, a DVD player, the navigation head unit, leather, and a sunroof. I love the homelink system for programming the garage doors. This truck hauls a 16' trailer and 4 atv's better than my 07 Chevy 2500HD truck. The downside is the gas mileage on this truck. But I bet if I stayed off the gas it would be alot better. This truck is a 4 wheel drive sports car.

Toyota...not quite what they were, still the best

More HP than ever needed...is a monster and a blast to drive, ride is great (except on concrete highways, then has an annoying bed bounce at times). Carpet mat hook came loose, dealer said would be $100 to fix (thought that was the cause of the acceleration incidents...oh well). It's a Toyota, had Toys over 20 years and always been happy with reliability and value. Points reduced for bed bounce issue...I don't spend much time on these kind of roads, if I did I might look for something else; Carpet mat hook breaking so easily and substantial cost to repair. I will still get another in the future as long as gas prices don't go too high as 13.8 MPG is what I get in the city (I knew that going into this deal)

Great buy

I bought a 2007 Tundra doublecab certified pre-owned. I traded in a 2006 4Runner with the 4.7 V8. This truck rides like a cloud, has plenty of power with the 5.7, tows my boat effortlessly, has plenty of room inside, and is overall a pleasure to drive. Haven't had any problems so far...don't expect any. Its my 4th Toyota in a row. It can be kind of a pain to park since it is a "land yacht", but that's my only gripe. I get stares and compliments all the time. Get one!!!

Trouble Free Driving

Muscle car performance in a stock truck, 134,000 miles no repairs other than maintenance, brake pads still OEM. Runs up a mountain towing 8000 lbs load without a sweat. Best driver seat you could put your butt in.

Pretty Bad Truck!!!

I really didn't like this truck. At about 5,000 miles the bed started to bounce around a lot at highway speeds, at least 65 mph. I take it to my dealership and they say to put 4 50 lb bags in the bed. That's 200 pounds just to add that this truck's 5.7L V8 only gets 12.5 mpg on average. At about 10K miles the truck shut down when I was on the interstate. I lost all power for about 5 seconds. No power steering, no lights, NOTHING! I took it to the dealership. They could not make the problem happen so no help for me on that one. Out of 35K miles it did it 4 more times. About 13K miles the radio blew up, which my STEALERSHIP made me pay half for when the truck was under warranty!! I believe it was at about 16 or 17K miles I had the gas pedal sticking problem. My wife was driving the truck with our 2 kids on the highway. They hid speeds of about 95 to 100 mph according to my wife. She put the truck in neutral but it STILL raced on. She tried to shut it off and hit the brakes but NOTHING! The key wouldn't turn to the 'off' position. She about lost control, but the pedal FINALLY came up. Complained to the stealership and got no help from them. At 20K miles the whole radio/speaker system blew up again. :( The stealership replaced it under warranty at no charge this time, while I had to pay half the first time!! :-/ Okay, here's the deal. Toyota advertises that this truck can tow 10K pounds. I hook a conventional trailer that weighs about 5K pounds to my Tundra. I was pulling a steep hill at about 45 mph and I heard a loud POP and the truck smoked white for about 10 seconds and then quit. The truck restarted 5 minutes later and ran like nothing happened. Any explanations for that?? Also, they advertise that this truck will keep your trailer from swaying b/c of the leaf springs and such. I was goin' 60 mph on the interstate. I pass a semi-truck and switch lanes and this trailer starts swayin' so bad that I lose control I slammed on the brakes and hit the guard rail at about 15 mph. I lost total control. The whole front grill, bumper, etc was ruined but the airbags didn't deploy and I hit my head on the steering wheel HARD!! C'mon Toyota, what the heck!?!?!?! Okay, so the odo rolls 26K miles on a road trip to Colorado and the "effecient" (lol) transmission slams down into 1st gear at 75 mph and BAM! I couldn't believe it!! Towed to the nearest dealership and I'm told total transmission failure!!! :( Tranny replaced under warranty. Then I'm done with this roadtrip. Just running some arons on a Monday morning. The truck has 27K miles and the radio/speaker stuff fails again. I said the heck with it and that I can go w/o a radio! Then the recall was issued on the sticky gas pedals and I was relieved. I take the truck to the dealership and they say that the gas pedal is fixed, everything is settled and okay! On the way home after the "fix", the pedal stuck again. BTW, current odometer reading, 31,500 miles! Me, my wife, and 2 kids were all in the truck. I got to about 95 mph. I rearended a car and the truck kept going. I flew around a turn and the truck rolled, flipping about 7 to 10 times and landing in the median in a ditch. I had multiple broken bones and was in the hospital for 3.5 days. My wife's neck and leg was broken and she is still in a cast and was in the hospital for about 14 days. Sadly, my 2 sons both died. My wife and I are still SOBBING over this. Class-action law suit will be filed against TOYOTA from ME! I bought a 2010 Ford F150 and it's a way better truck for me. I will still pursue TOYOTA when they SAID that my TRUCK'S PEDAL was FIXED!! DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK. IT'S A DEATH TRAP!!!!!!!!

I love this truck!

Had an 06 Tacoma before this and loved it, but it was a bit too small inside (I'm over 6 feet tall). Went and test drove a pre-owned 2007 Tundra Doublecab with the 5.7L engine...an hour later I was signing the paperwork. Great ride, comfortable seats, very powerful engine. Gets lots of looks, especially from the domestic truck owners who hate it, but still can't ignore it. It can be a pain when driving on the highway because of blind spots, but that's my only complaint. I love the truck. Wouldn't trade it for any other truck on the road.
