2002 Toyota Tundra consumer reviews

I bought my 2002 SR5 toyota Tundra brand new. I have only logged in 148,000 miles and know it can deliver another 148,000 miles. She rides very comfortable than our 2018 Toyota 4Runner and 2019 Toyota RAV4. I plan on getting the Tundra Hybrid to replace her.

This truck has been great! I’ve only owned it for 4 months now, I bought it from my dad who had for several years prior to selling to me. He loved it as well! This vehicle has been comfortable, reliable and decent on gas.

17 years old , never broke down or not started. Still runs like a champ! Take care of it and it will more than return the favor.

Once the rotted framing was replaced free of charge by Toyota this turned out to be one of the best four-wheel-drive’s that I’ve ever owned. As long as you take care of the 4.7 L engine and the connected transmission, you will not have problems out of this truck other than the braking system and suspension. All of which are easy to work on. At 243,000 miles she’s ready to run another hundred thousand. I hate to get rid of it but as a third vehicle I have to let her go.

In the 17 yrs I've owned it, I have only had about $500 of repairs (besides normal maintenance). Very comfortable to drive. Nice sized bed.

My wife thinks I should get a new Tacoma, but I can’t let loose of my 2002 Tundra. The best vehicle i’ve Ever owned by far.

I bought my 2002 Tundra new. It was the first pick up truck I've owned. I did a lot of research before buying and the Tundra seemed the best. As of now (2019) it has 98,000 miles on it. Never broke down. The only repairs have been oxygen sensors and a leak in the power steering fluid. The tundra is rugged as xxxx. Had a decent size tree fall on bed. Bent the sidewalls almost to the floor. No damage whatsoever to the frame or suspension. Fixed it myself with a jack and deadblow hammer. Doesn't look too pretty, but it's functional. Truck has tons of power, but surprisingly good milage. Taken it on many long trips. Got 29 mpg driving all day on the highway. Mpg for usual driving is around 15mpg. Going to keep it till it falls apart!

Very happy with performance. Dependable and I love the backspace. The AC unit is perfect and always cold. Enough space in the back to move full living room.

I bought this truck with 6,000 miles, 150,000 later still a great truck. I would trust driving this truck anywhere. The maintenance has been next to nothing.
