Commuters delight
I spend 1-2 hours a day stuck in traffic traveling a total of 28 miles. It doesn't bother me to sit in traffic because the car is comfortable and quiet. Who can complain about an average of 30-43 miles to the gallon depending on driving conditions?

Best gas mileage of any vehicle we've ever had
For 800 bucks more than the standard RAV4, the hybrid is a screaming deal. Increasing the city gas mileage by 50%, cutting gas use by 300 gallons per year, the dollar return is better than any bank ever paid. Average is 37 mpg for the first 2000 miles. I'm no hot-fodder, but even those who are should achieve the EPA estimate of 32 mpg. The SE model looks good, rides and handles pretty well for a small vehicle, one of Toyota's best efforts to date, combined with the advantage of 4WD. New LED headlights are also fantastic, price a little steep compared to other Asian brands but once you get the hybrid system it's a deal.

2017 RAV4 Hybrid Limited
Excellent overall. Took a little getting used to the hybrid drivetrain. Averaging 33 to 35 mpg in mixed city-highway driving over several tanks of gas. Vehicle did not have a single defect or problem at delivery. 90 days after delivery vehicle remains trouble free.

Just read the review from 2/27/2017. Don't know what this lady's problem is, but I love my 2017 RAV4 Hybrid Limited. This is my 5th Toyota, 3rd RAV. I drive mostly in Eco, but read that when driving long-term freeway to use Sport. The mileage has been fantastic. Last RAV, 2008, got around 23 pmg. So far this one is getting at least 33 & I expect it to get better after driving it longer. Love using the all-around camera when parking in a lot if I'm not sure about my position. It will let me know if I need to pull up more or if I've gotten too far to one side. Since I live where there's plenty of hills, I find pick up very good when going up a hill. My 1st RAV was a 4 cylinder & it labored to make it up the long gradual hills on my way home from work. My husband also is sold on this car & all the features it has including the safety features. I'm still learning & need to get my book out again to see what else I can master on this car. It's great & fun to drive. I feel special when driving.

Another view on RAV4 hybrids for older audiences
My husband loves this car; I hate it. It's officially his car. Downside: small steering wheel that blocks a view of the control panel unless the wheels face straight ahead. Keyless ignition/entry: it is possible to leave the car running in park, open the door, remove the seatbelt without know it. (No alarm to indicate it's still on.) If the steering wheel blocks the control panel, it's difficult to see the warning icons. Rear-view mirror is large and limits forward-facing field of vision. Starting the car: I find the start-up sequence confusing: I've been able to enable the car to roll in Drive without the Parking brake on, only to discover that the engine wasn't engaged. Basically - there is no "fail safe" for drivers unfamiliar with hybrids or the way the hybrid works with a keyless ignition. On aesthetics: All black interiors (only other option is for some really ugly two-tone seats). Black keys left on black seats or in black console = keys left in car. I don't like keyless systems, so it means trying to identify a way to be sure I don't leave the key in the car (wear a lanyard around my neck)? Exterior design: in white, it looks something like a Star Wars storm trooper. Black wheels. Why did Toyota see the need to make the RAV4 larger with every year? There is nothing about the look of this new model that I like. Visibility isn't great. Back hatch automatic lift is slow and without any apparent manual override (be prepared to stand in the rain while you wait for it to open). We have an older Prius, which is a wonderful little car without much power. The learning curve on this new RAV4 hybrid is a challenge. Be prepared to read the manual and go to school to learn to use it. This isn't a car for anyone with early-onset senility.

Great car
I have been waiting for this for a long time. Gas model SUV usually use a lot of gas, and I do a lot of city and traffic driving. Once Toyota came out with RAV4 Hybrid in 2016, I have been doing research on it. Once they came out SE model, I decided to buy one. Not only the outside looks awesome, the interior, ride comfort, performance, the new TSS, everything is what I have been asking for.
