The most economy and reliable car.

Prius is a great economy family vehicle because of hybrid system and trusted brand Toyota. Capacious trunk. Attractive exterior and interior design. Quality JBL audio system sound.

Third generation Prius

My first Toyota. Liked. Not fun to drive. Seat facing center dials, not straight ahead. Weird. Very light weight. Hollow feeling. Traded 2003 MB E320. Very unhappy at first. Traded after four months when brother looking to trade ten year old Passat on newly redesigned Golf. I?d been reminesing about my first new car, 1973 VW Beetle. And the lovely red color vw had, wanted four door golf in that. Wound up with two door silver. Fine. Brother bought 2011 diesel to get all bells and whistles, got involved in deiselgate. Got new Wolfsburg Golf five years newer, and $2,800 for his trouble to trade deisel back to vw.

Most Reliable and Practical Car Ever

It's been now almost 8 years since we purchased Toyota Prius. We are looking to replace it, not because it needs to be replaced, but because we are ready for some manual transmission fun and to "next-size," especially in the rear seat area. Not that it's small, but our daughters and their soccer friends are getting tall, and space is precious on long road trips. So, 141,000 miles later, we can report that this has been the most reliable car we ever owned. I knew that my daily commute, combined with girls' practices and random tournament trips will put me in the 20,000 miles per year range. So, getting ~50 MPG routinely was not only a "feel good" thing, but a very pragmatic decision that saved a lot of gas money. Insurance rate was reasonable. Servicing was a breeze. Through careful use of regenerative braking, I am STILL on an original set of brake pads. No deterioration of battery performance or MPG average noted - and I paid close attention to it daily. As far as performance and handling, one's expectations have to be aligned with the car's purpose. It was engineered to be a fuel-efficient commuter car, and in that sense, it performs flawlessly. For example, POWER mode does make it feel more lively through adjusted throttle response. My wife always used it, while I never felt it was necessary or needed. ECO mode was so unresponsive that we never bothered with it. Our interior was beige and it held up well over the years. We've used towels to cover the rear seat while girls were younger (snacks and drinks get spilled routinely by toddlers). The end result - cloth interior looks like new, short of some wrinkling of the driver's seat surface. Trunk is surprisingly spacious. Visibility, despite the low spoiler in the back, was never an issue. Ride comfort - nothing to write home about, but not noticeable either. Never try to save on tires, and you'll reduce road noise and increase safety. With a number of aftermarket companies offering replacement batteries with 2 year warranty for less than $1,000, Prius makes even more sense to keep for a long term. Toyota's incredible reliability combined with 50 MPG and comfortable ride makes this for a perfect commuter car. We will consider Prius Prime in the future, for sure!

Great Car for the Money

Really does get close to 50 miles per gallon. Just a great car for those who are very cost conscious. Actually can haul an amazing amount of of stuff.

Best gas mileage ever!

I am very pleased with the overall performance of my Prius. I love the gas mileage, the interior design, the moon-roof. It is a great car with more interior room than you would expect by looking at the outside of it.

Getting Better All the Time

I have always had good cars (well, except my Volkswagon Fastback). Each time I changed it seemed I progressed - from Subaru, to Honda, to Prius. All very good, yet each was a bit better than the previous. For now, I have no plans to look any further!

Very good car for the money

On March 3, I became the owner of my 2010 Prius. I did have to put spark plugs and coils in it the first week I had it, but bought the car for such a low price that it wasn?t an issue. The car has surpassed all expectations so far. It?s like driving a sound proof room down the road with the radio off. Very quiet in the cabin. It looks like you are piloting a spaceship and the drivers seat is the center of the cockpit. It does take an adjustment to get used to the gas engine shutting down at stoplights though. In the winter, make sure the heat temp is adjusted as the gas engine warms up, otherwise the gas motor will not shut off. The styling is unique, but is easy on the eyes. I have been getting between 42-50 mpg in town. Do not be afraid of a higher mileage car, as they are very trouble free. The gasoline savings will start showing up very quickly. Especially if your current vehicle is getting 20 mpg or less as mine was. Don?t be afraid to get your hands dirty, as the car is very simple to perform maintenance and repairs on. I love mine and wish I?d have found mine sooner.

Day 1 was on point

Just bought a used 2010 Prius. People say their ugly and drive weird, but I don?t get it: had everything I need, built by Toyota and 50 mpg. Seems to be the perfect car for me now and in the years in the future for whatever life brings at me. Win win!!
