Still new to me
The Prius is a very comfortable car to drive. I like the driver's compartment layout. I still find myself watching the display a lot to see what kind of mileage I am getting at any particular moment. I have been a little disappointed in the mileage overall. I have only been getting 38-39 mpg in city driving. I did put snow tires on the car if that makes a difference. There are some annoying features like the beeping in reverse. The continuous beeping if sensors detect a door open or something stuck in the door. The seat belt beeping. I suppose a talking car would be worse. :-)

2010 Toyota Prius
Bought a used 2010 Prius about a month ago. Found it through cars.com here in Ohio. The car's been great. It has similar horsepower and cargo space to my 2001 Camry but twice the gas mileage! Even the cargo room is similar, it's a foot shorter too and so it fits into my garage more easily. There's plenty of room in the backseat for two adults. I bought snow tires and have had no problem in the snow (and we've had a lot so far this year). I did drive one day in the snow before placing the snow tires, and it was slipping.... I like the various driving modes. I flip it into Power Mode when I need to get onto the highway or need to pass someone. I put it into ECO mode or normal mode usually. I'm averaging around 50 MPH. The gas engine works a lot at startup in this cold weather to heat up the car, and gas mileage goes down as a result. The only negative so far is getting into the car. My legs (I'm about 5'11") keep hitting the steering wheel (which is adjustable). I'll have to doublecheck the front seat to see if it's too high.

Amazing
After having a Subaru Outback wagon and a Honda Civic sedan, I have to say that the Prius is my favorite of the three. I average 50 mpg, all with a smooth ride, comfortable seats, and tons of gadgets. Unlike the Civic, I don't feel like my butt is scraping the ground - I feel like I'm sitting up higher and have better visibility. No, I won't be drag racing in it, but I love it. And it's sporty and cute.

Prius IV-A CAR I LOVE DRIVE
Bought this vehicle three months ago and I am extremely happy with it. It consistently gets 50-52 miles per gallon with mostly highway driving at speeds averaging betrween 55 to 60 mph. I have a Prius IV which has a nav. system and JBL stereo. The JBL system is outstanding and gives a clean sound whether I am listening to jazz, rock or classical music. The cabin is very comfortable and remarkably roomy both in front and back for six-footers. I cannot say enough great things about this "green car" that also makes me feel good to drive from an environmental point of view, which is important to me.

bought it for the mpg
So far, pretty disappointed w/ my new Prius. Was excited to begin getting those 50 mpg that this vehicle was rated at. I bought it brand new a little over 2 mos ago, have driven 3200 miles and my mpg averages around 35....I was getting better with my Versa! There is very little acceleration/pick up with this Prius. The passenger doors seem to be hollow and I wonder how it would hold up in a side collision. I do love the trunk space but after all, it is a hatchback. The 'back up beeps' sound like a service vehicle backing up...very annoying. I was told not to even take notice of the mpgs for 6 mos; the car would get broken in by then and I would begin to see the better gas mileage....well, I sure hope so because if not, then I'm sorry I bought this car!

Improved over 2005
We previously owned a 2005 Prius prior to purchasing a 2010 Prius II. The vehicle seems to be a more substantial vehicle, somewhat quieter and attractive styled. We found the II did not have the keyless entry on both passenger door and hatchback which we consider an inconvenience. The three push buttons for different modes (electric, economy and power) are a waste. The center console takes up space and I would not consider it an improved design. Otherwise, the mileage is as good as expected and general performance meets our expectations.

Toyota Prius
Good on gas mileage, on occasion we've avg 60 mpg, but this is rare. Usually avg is somewhere around 52 in the summer, we noticed we're only averaging around 42 in the cold months. Gas mileage is better in the warmer months. Much roomer than it appears. It's great not to need a key to start it or to get in with. It's a little difficult to see out the back window, a feature that should be improved upon. I had heard this before we bought the car, but I didn't seem to think this was a problem. After owning this car, I realize it is a problem. Overall it's a nice vehicle and I would buy another one.

Loving the in-town mileage!
My Prius has been perfect for the short trips that I make most days. I've gotten mileage in the high 50s and sometimes 60s when driving 25-50 miles on my daily work routes at speeds averaging 35 mph. Took it on a 500-mile road trip on Interstate and still got 46 mpg driving against the nasty Wyoming wind at 70-75 mph! It has changed the way I drive as I'm much more conscious of what driving strategies produce the best mpg and I make it a goal everyday to try to reach the 60 mpg mark.
