Explore the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser

Owned Toyota since 1984

I bought my first New Tacoma in 1984 and several more throughout the years then I bought a 2010 Tundra Platinum Edition...that was indeed the best vehicle I’ve ever owned and like most car enthusiast I still keep a Porsche in one stall. I upgraded my 2010 to a 2016 Tundra 1796 Edition and after about 10,000 miles I realized it was 1/2 the truck I had traded in. Being a Toyota fan I traded in the 2016 truck for a 2018 LC and I feel about it the way I felt about the 2010 Platinum Tundra. Everyone has pointed out the only weaknesses I have found...small gas tank and poor gas mileage.

over priced ...but last a life time

most expensive new truck I've ever drove , just wish the price was $20,000 cheaper and I have no need for 3 rows of seats and rear entreatment in the head rest as I'm a camper mtn biker so like the space and can lock up my bike in side and also can sleep in the back away from the ants and snakes, so on the hunt for a used one that doesn't have 200,000 # miles

Great for the long haul

I purchased this truck because I was looking for something that was capable, reliable, could haul 6 plus and would ride well enough for long trips . I got that and so much more. I have had LC for 6 months and it dose everything I wanted perfectly and some other things I had not thought of. The driving position is awesome allowing you to see clearly , the safety features are very helpful and the cameras make driving this big rig much easier in tight spots ... Tech could be better but to be honest in a truck like this it’s nice having buttons that make stuff work rather than having to go through screen after screen . This winter we got several major snow events I was the only person getting in and out of our area for over a week ... including the guy next store with a RR. Driving from the wet coast to Denver the truck is capable and comfortable . Hauling the dogs and fishing gear there is ample space and easy to clean up ..Gas tank should be bigger IN closing I buy cars and keep for a long time .. I look forward to using this great truck for the next 20 plus years and it will more than likely out last me ...

Sexy and a beast

Between the seating capacity of 8. 6 very comfortably. The perforated seats and the safety features you can't do better than a Land Cruiser. Great value for the money.

My Family Has Owned 6: Here's What Is New

Over the course of my lifetime, my family has had the great pleasure of driving 6 Land Cruisers (ever since we fell in love with the early 2000's model). Obviously, there comes a little bias when I say that the Land Cruiser is the best large luxury SUV out there... but that comes with knowing that every single Land Cruiser we've owned has reached 250,000 miles with NO mechanical problems - the only time our Cruisers have been in the shop were for maintenance. We run about 35,000 miles a year on average - quite a bit to test the longevity in a quick amount of time. (Note: At roughly 180,000 miles one of the speakers usually don't like songs with strong bass and around 230,000+ the driver's window does not come down - if you replace it, the problem just comes back within 30,000 miles) If well kept, you could sell your Land Cruiser for at least $8,000 trade-in around 300,000 miles. Big contingency on well-kept though. Given the price range, the Land Cruiser is often compared to Mercedes, Range Rovers, and other luxury brands. That being said, it still sports a Toyota badge. It is slightly more discrete and less bold in exterior design. Only a select few will recognize its true prowess until they get inside. If you are concerned about performance, look up "Land Cruiser Speed Record". All you need is an aftermarket supercharger to crank the respectable 381 hp to an unprecedented 550 hp (more than any supercharged Range Rover). Turns on a dime, off roads like no other, and holds a plush ride along the way (May not be as plush as a Mercedes, but pretty darn close). As far as the 2018 goes, many of the things in our 2001, 2003, 2008, 2013, etc. Land Cruisers it holds true to the legacy it has established with previous models. A little bit leaner on the chassis this time around, moving back to the early 2000's era: perfect! The only thing that frustrates me is this: It has the same gear shifter handle as the base model Camry. An $87,000 vehicle should not match any interior accessories as a $25,000 vehicle if it is to be said luxurious. Just switch back to the old shifter handles - they are awesome. If you took the time to read through this entire thing, I'm sure the last thing you are worried about is a gear shifter. Just know one thing: if you are looking for a car with value, look no further than the Toyota Land Cruiser. Once you get one, you will realize just how few there are until you travel to an exotic, wealthy tourist location like Aspen, Colorado - where reliable luxury is what dominates the used auto market. So long as Toyota continues making Land Cruisers the way they have over the past two decades, I will forever advocate for them.

Goes Anywhere as long as you have the gas

This vehicle travels anywhere thanks to its 4 wheel drive capability and it does so in style. The only drwback is the teeny gas tank and fuel consumption that mandates twice a week fill ups

Not Impressed/Disappointed

Was very interested in a luxury 4WD SUV and always wanted to check out Land Cruiser. I was testing several SUVs the same day so had a good comparison. The Land Cruiser did not have as good a ride as others such as Mercedes or even GMC Yukon. The cargo space in the rear is limited, taken up by the extra seats that would be better off removed. "Luxury" features such as a refrigerator instead of storage in center console seemed to me very impractical. I did not get to check out the 4 wheel drive performance so cannot comment on its effectiveness. Overall not worth the price tag.
