Still good but headed in the wrong direction
Bought a2008used. Previously owned a2004, The 2004 seemed more solid, also the third row seats were completely removable in the 2004.but are not in the 2008 and after. This makes the 2008 less useful for hauling stuff, why on earth would Toyota think it was a good idea to make those seats unremovable? The rear side windows used to open, a nice touch, gone in the 08. I think Toyota is targeting this car for suburbia now, more than the plains of Africa or off roaming in general.

Most unreliable vehicle I've owned
Bought the vehicle used from an unscrupulous used car lot which came with a damaged transmission, blown head gasket, damaged secondary air pumps, non functioning mirrors, damaged CD player, etc.... The used car place told me they went through the car and all was good(of course they lied to me). Toyota HQ wouldn't back their flagship vehicle since I bought it used. Poor customer service and a poor quality vehicle with low mileage.

Land Cruiser: The GodFather of all SUVs
In the 1990s I owned the 100 series Land Cruiser and it was a phenomenal SUV for the desert and mountain terrain. The LC never betrayed us but was the strongest, sturdiest and most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Presently I own the 2008 LC 200 series and though it has a new design and many upgrades, it maintains its reputations for durability, reliability, strength, off-roading and the largest engine in its class. No other SUV can be compared to the Land Cruiser for the status quo it has achieved in all these years. This is the vehicle that the UNO uses for all their outreach work around the world. What an endorsement! However, it does not have fancy logistics and décor but something robust and long lasting. Anything between 200K-300K miles is fair game before any repairs begin happening but I have learned from many owners that it can easily run anywhere between 500K-600K miles before anything major happens. Above all this is one of the very few vehicles in the Toyota line-up that are still made, assembled and created in JAPAN. That tells the entire story.

2008 Toyota LC better than my previous three LC's
Just bought two 2008 Toyota LC's. Have previously owned 2000 LC and 2004 LC. Everything from ride, power, interior, agility, technology etc far surpasses the previous models. You have to drive one to really know what a great improvement has been made even though they are a little pricey.
