BEWARE OF THE TOWING PACKAGE

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2008 HIGHLANDER LIMITED WITH THE TOW PACKAGE THAT TOYOTA MARKETS AS BEING CAPABLE OF TOWING 5000 LBS. THEY WILL NOT HOWEVER PROVIDE FOR THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED FOR BRAKE ASSISTED TRAILERS WHILE THEY REQUIRE ANY TRAILER WITH A GROSS WEIGHT OF OVER 1000 LBS TO HAVE BRAKES. THEY ALSO HAVE STATED THAT MY WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED IF A THIRD PARTY INSTALLS A HARNESS AND A PROBLEM ARISES. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

"A Dream to Drive and Its All Ours"

My wife and I were in the market for something that would be roomy enough for us and our two kids. We looked at the fully loaded Rav 4 Limited and were close to purchasing it until we compared it to the 2008 Highlander. For a little more $ we got alot more in the new Highlander! Even though it was a "base" model, it did not feel at all like one. The interior was well thought out and a leap ahead of the 2007 model. The redesigned dash has its controls well layed out. I liked the second row occupants having the ability to control their own air conditioning settings from their "captain's" chairs. The fold flat third row seats add the flexibility to seat seven when going riding with friends and relatives. The eye catching new exterior draws attention, something I'm not used to! The new 3.5 liter V6 easily satisfies my horsepower needs while still giving good gas mileage. Driving in the 2008 Highlander is quiet, comfortable, and secure. The standard ABS, traction and stability controls already have proven their worth. While the new Highlander may cost more than other competitive SUVs, its beautiful looks inside & out, performance, and safety features make it look and drive in a higher class of vehicles. The name Toyota always represented build quality and dependability to us. As owners of different vehicles before, we already know this to be very true! We're very pleased with our new Highlander and look forward to many years of trouble free driving.

Only Car to Consider if you have Two in Carseats

The new Higlander is the perfect car for those looking for the function of a minivan, but don't want the look. Mr favorite feature is the second row bucket seats because you can use the third row seat without have to remove either of the car seats.

The most in the freeway

It will be the most SUV you can see on the freeway. No 1. Big wheels 19inchs, have a tow package, and very economic compare with others SUV 7 passengers V6 engine sunroof, Navigation, JBL 1000 watt stereo system, back up camera. This is the best.

nice suv

The redesigned 2008 Highlander is an eyecatcher, not to mention, a headturner. I'm not much a car enthusiast though but for this one I'll make an exemption. We bought our Limited edition last July 26, 2007. When I first saw it at the dealership, I fell in love with it. I adore the new look toyota made out of the Highlander, it has more style, more "class". I bet its competitor, the honda Pilot is not happy about it. Although I would say, its a little bit pricey. But hey, i got no complaints. It's the hot car in the block!

"Goodbye minivans."

We bought our Highlander (the base model, even though they don't call it "base" anymore) to replace a 2004 Sienna. Our kids aren't little anymore, and we were ready to get out of a van and into a somewhat sportier and slightly smaller vehicle. So far, we couldn't be happier. The power is excellent. We had also driven the V6 RAV4, which has the same engine as the new Highlander. In the RAV, the engine felt like it overpowered the vehicle, in the Highlander it feels just right. We also like the feeling of the new electronic steering, it's definitely a sportier feeling to drive than the Sienna, although I always really enjoyed the Sienna. Everything else mechanical (suspension, brakes, etc.) all feel just right in the Highlander, too. We think Toyota did a great job with this vehicle. There are -- and will be -- compromises, of course, when compared to the utility of the Sienna. With the third row in use, there's practically no room behind that seat. In the Sienna, there was still some pretty useable space there. It's also too bad that the 3rd row won't fold 50/50. That came in handy a lot of times in the Sienna. But on the plus side, the 2nd row captains chair design with the walkthrough feature to the back row is great. And I'm sure the stowaway middle seat will come in handy, too. As you probably already know, Toyota is proud of the Highlander, and it shows in their prices. Even though we've owned nothing but Toyotas for more than 20 years, we had to think pretty hard about jumping ship this time because of the prices. We went as far as shopping around and came fairly close to buying a Hyundai Santa Fe instead. We could have bought a loaded limited model, with a LOT more luxury features for a few thousand less than what we had to pay for the (base) Highlander. But in the end, we got a pretty good deal on our Highlander, (possibly because the advertising really hadn't kicked in yet and they weren't moving quite as fast as the dealers expected they would) and settled on one of the lowest-priced models. The last thing I'll mention is also related to cost. Even though our (base) Highlander doesn't have many frills, it doesn't feel like it's overly "de-contented." It still feels very nice. Not luxurious, per se, but very nice. And it really does ride and drive like a dream. We love it.
