Great Car / Don’t let the high mileage scare you
I couldn’t afford car payments anymore and just wanted a car for local driving. So I purchased this car with cash. The 137,000 miles on the car made me nervous. I purchased the car at the end of 2022 and the car so far has been great. I’m trying to reserve mileage because the car already has high mileage but already put around 2000 miles on it and the car runs like a charm with no problems.

Love the looks of the car. Love the smoothness of
Plenty of leg room. My only complaint is the VSC light keeps coming on. After lots of research I feel as though Toyota should deem this a recall item. Seems as though many people eventually have this problem.

Great car!
I have owned this 2006 Solara Convertible since day one. It now has 202,000 miles on it and still drives like it's new. In the 14 years I've owned the car the only thing I've had to fix outside of normal maintenance items like brakes, etc. is having the power steering pump replaced. It is such a comfortable car to drive or be a passenger in, reminds me of the old style Buicks and Caddys but without the sloppy handling. The only negative thing about the car I can say is the cowl shake due to the top being removed. Its not terrible but is noticeable and after 200k miles there are fine cracks in the dash in places I believe is due to this. The cracks are by no means noticeable and the interior still looks amazing after all this time. All the electronics work, mirrors, windows, etc. The only thing that doesn't is the left heated seat light went out but the seats still heat so no biggie. The leather has wear "wrinkles" but no cracks or rips and has held up very well. The exterior was another story lol. After many years of baking in hot parking lots all day the black paint looked terrible not to mention all the dings. The headlights were cloudy and yellow. Antenna all cracked and loosing pieces. The top wasn't that bad really but did have a few very small tears along the back where it met the decklid. Oh and cat hair!! Cats love to nap on cloth convertible tops!! Sooo annoying! When I decided I wanted a new car I was going to get rid of this and get a new rag top. Honestly the only things I liked were the six series BMW or the Audi. Both north of 70k$. The Buick Cascada was discontinued and the only one in the 30-40k price range I would have considered. So instead I was like wth I'll just buy a regular car, ended up getting a Toyota Camry. Decided to fully restore the Solara, got it repainted a 2017 jeep blue color that I loved, had the top replaced, new rims, tires, performance brakes with red calipers and drilled rotors, new headlights, tail lights, fog lights, grill. All the badging painted black instead of chrome and lastly all the side windows and front windshield replaced. Car literally looks brand new and amazing! I love it. Cost less than 8k$ to restore and that's a lot less than a brand new convertible. Its in the garage now and only gets used in nice weather but I will undoubtedly own this car till I can no longer drive or am dead, which ever comes first lol. I really can't say enough good things about the Solara and it's by far the most reliable car I've owned. If you are interested in getting a used one don't hesitate you will be very happy.

Over 200,000 and still running strong.
The only repair was to replace the alternator great car to drive. I just had the oil changed and it could have gone another 3000 miles the way the old oil looked.
