Best longlasting vehicle

My 2004 4runner SR5 hit 300,000 miles and if it hadnt been for the diagnostics i had toyota run on it to see how she was for hitting with that many original miles i would of never of known she had blown a head gasket, still purrs like a kitten, hauls buttlll like a mountain lion, starts up everytime like it was the first, AC is like a freezer, heater will burn you up, with a stereo system that will make you AND your neighbors jamm out! The driving is still magic, smooth and able to take curves and hills like satin, still picks up and roars! Gas milage never wavered at 24 on the hwy and 17 in town, hits bumps like not even there, no leaks, no smoke, no noise, and continues to look as good as new with only the normal scratch here and there . I LOVE MY 4RUNNER ! They say the heads arent sevicable due to they are silver so im going to treat my baby to a new engine since she has been such a great vehicle and i just dont want to trade her in, she still looks and feels good , shes my girl ! If you want a vehicle that is loyal, long lasting, and never lets you down .....the 4runner is the one for your money, you cant buy a used one for less than a new motor bc their value continues to run high, and no other car have i had( and ive tried them all) made it to the 300, 000 mark or keep the class that the 4 runner has, much less give as little trouble as this big , roomy, and comfortable hunk of steel gives! BE A WINNER! BUY A RUNNER, A 4 RUNNER!!

Rusted out from the East Coast

Still looked good and drove fine. I crawled under the car after the test drive and rust was shredding the frame. One of the front tow hooks had been completely dissolved from rust.

It's a Toyota, and it's a 4runner.

I've owned two, 4th gens and they are the best. Not on only does it look good but it performs very well. Never any Major problems normal maintenance and high mileage repairs. Engine and transmission wise will go 200k+ please use primary toyota parts when doing repairs. Thanks.

Outstanding Vehicle.

The 2004 4Runner that I own and purchased new is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. This vehicle to date has never had a major mechanical problem. There is not even a squeak or rattle etc . The vehicle still drives as solid as it was new. I can't praise the Toyota 4Runner enough. It is an outstanding vehicle.

Best Car for Its Year

This car was the best I've ever been in. Great for joyrides, running errands, and everything in between. It was sleek, beautiful, and amazing. I seriously miss it.

In DEMAND type of vehicle.

We bought this 4+ years ago and have never been sorry. It has cost very little to maintain and his been totally reliable. Ours is the V6 2WD SR5 version. This SUV is such heavy demand, especially used (price is probably $50+K new). The 4Runners really hold their value---people pay a lot for ones with over 200K miles.

I bought the car from xxxxxxxx salesmen

It's not been too swell because they sold me a beat up car that's costing alot in repairs. If everything worked fine I'd give it an 8/10. But so far 4/10.

Love the 4Runner-Best Car Ever

Exceptional reliability and value. Have 235,000 miles on it with original engine, trans, differentials, bearings, interior. Expect to get 300,000+. Have only replaced tires, brakes, drive belt & O2 sensors, which I consider maintenance items. Get 22 mpg on the hwy & 19 in town.

Excellent Reliability

I purchased my 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 in July 2014 with just over 148,000 miles on it. Now it has over 176,000 miles and has been extremely reliable. The only repair we have done so far is replacing an O2 sensor. Everything else is still in perfect working condition. Pros: 1. Off-road capability in stock form is more than enough for the average user. We take ours camping/mild off-roading on a regular basis and have never gotten stuck. 2. Interior space is excellent for the size of the vehicle. There is plenty of leg room even with two car seats in the second row. Plenty of space in the trunk with built in storage for the ball and hitch. The moon roof has not leaked at all in 13 years. The seats are comfortable even on long road trips. All of the electronics still work. 3. Reliability - this is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I would drive this thing anywhere without worrying about breaking down. Cons 1. Fuel Economy. We average about 18mpg, but these aren't meant to be fuel efficient. 2. Towing with the V6/4 speed transmission - it has plenty of torque to get the full 5000 pound towing capacity moving. But on even the smallest hills the transmission will switch gears more often than it should trying to find the best gear. They added a 5 speed transmission for V8s and for all the ones built after 2004 so I would recommend one of those if you plan to do a lot of towing. Otherwise the V6/4 speed is fine. Overall this is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is extremely versatile, reliable, and easy to work in if you like to work on your own vehicles. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a 4 wheel drive SUV.
