Good car

I bought a new sky blue X limited subaru forester. Its a simply great car, I love it. It is super cofortable, its so comfortable that my son had a hard time staying awake. it is very fun to drive with a small turning circle and responsive handling. It gets good gas milage for an SUV and still has good performance, even though it isnt the best. THe only thing i don't like about the car is that when you are driving it seems like you are driving a lot slower than what you really are, which can cause you a speeding ticket. I would totally recommed this car to anyone.

Forester Great for mixed uses

Loe the car, its ease of access, responsiveness, seat comfort, visibility, small footprint, cargo capacity, sure-footedness, powerful defrost/anti-ice equipment, moderate road noise, good sound equipment, logical controls, great sunroof.

this is our first subaru and excited to utilize it

Forrester is the biggest bang for the buck in its class! The only negative opinion I have is the clutch is entirely too shoft on the premium manual.

long time owner of subaru's

This subaru is the best so far we compared it to the CRV and bought the Premium model There is no comparison between these cars The subaru rides better and has more useful "toys" I have made U turns during snow storms on major highways in the past with my subaru This one I'm sure will be up to the test This is a real tough vehicle. if you need a bmw this is not it ! it's better!

GREAT AUTO>>>

Great vehicle, so far only downside is the interior materials. Like the design and functionality. Engine feels strong (XT). Love the confort of the driver seat. only disapoinment so far has been the passanger seat. The lack of adjustments. I would recoment this vehicle to any one. Just keep in mind that fuel economy its so so. This is our twelve subaru and its just great.

Reliability and security

I have my Subaru Forester for three days now. Although that does not sound like a lot of days to write a more complete review, I can say that the car feels well made and secure. The ride is comfortable, although the seats could be a little softer, specially the back seats. Maybe it Subaru adds a inch or so of cushion might help it quite a bit. I love the Huge sun roof of the Forester. That is a big plus. The engine is ok for this vehicle. It won't push you like a rocket down the street, but it's nimble and economical. The quality inside is good. I wish the had less hard plastic though. It would make it so much nicer. I have to Touring version which comes with a electroluminescent gauge cluster that looks sporty and easy to see. The radio and air temperature bottoms could use a little brighter illumination. They look dim even at the highest setting. Maybe the illumination lights being red has something to do with why they look dim to me. The Forester Touring version comes with lost of extra, like back up camera, rear seat push up bottom, remote trunk release, HID lights, (very nice to see the roads at night), the different gauge cluster (compare to other Foresters models) and silver roof bars that differentiate it from the other models. All in all, I think that for the price I got a good car with the options that would cost a lot more in other vehicles in its class. I definitely recommend it for any body looking to own an SUV that will get you places (even trough snow and rough terrain) securely and reliably.

Great Car

If you want a small SUV that performs well in the snow, there is not a question that this is the car for you. This is the second Forester that we have owned, and some significant improvements have been made in safety and comfort. Buy this car without hesitatiion.

Fun Forester

My new base model Forester is sized and equiped perfectly for my every-day errands and hauling. Very easy to drive, good visability, and simple intuitive controls. My only concern so far is body integrity (tightness and solid feeling). A rattle has already developed.

A good value

I owned a 2001 first generation Forester for ten years with few problems. So far I have been impressed with the third generation 2011 Forester 2.5X. I ordered it with optional fog lights and the alloy wheels. It is a taller and wider car. The seats are comfortable and the car is fairly easy to drive. The new engine has a timing chain and yes I do notice the timing chain rattle for only a second on cold mornings until the oil has a chance to circulate through the engine. Subaru says that the rattle does not affect the durability of the engine. I would recommend the 2011 Forester.

Great car, but....

I am now 20K miles in to my new generation Forrester Limited. Very few problems (the carpet didn't fit correctly - they replaced it). Visabiltiy, ease of access, and other convenience features are great. The only major problem with this car is the obsolete 4 speed transmision. At highway speeds the engine is cranking at 3000 rpm and searching vainly for 5th gear, which doesn't exist. For some reason this website says there is overdrive - there is none. The end result is lousy highway gas mileage. Why Subaru cheaped out on the transmission on this otherwise fine vehicle I'll never understand. All the competitors have 5 or 6 speed automatics.
