Sporty All Wheel Drive + Safety

My new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is amazing. Lots of room, glued to the road even in icy conditions, great interior design, sporty look outside, great mileage (31.5 in sub-zero weather), and all the bells and whistles to make driving safer. My insurance went down! Would definitely recommend.

Sturdy, reliable and snazzy.

I shopped for year before choosing the Crosstrek and I am thrilled. It is comfortable, reliable, zippy and I do not believe I can kill it.

I LOVE MY CROSSTREK.

Mmmk, so?I've only had this car for three weeks. So, be advised that any long-term issues are yet to be discovered. BUT. I love this car. I love the look, the feel, how it drives. In the first 48 hours of owning it, we had some snow and I got to try it out on some packed snow streets, and it was actually difficult to lose traction. It handles really well (so far!) on adverse road conditions. In three weeks I've driven 1,100 miles?and still love the car. I have a manual transmission?and having hill assist is FANTASTIC (although it's taking me a while to get used to?I've always driven manuals, so getting used to not rolling backwards is weird, but great). My ONLY qualm with the car is that the horn is super wimpy. It is a beep, not a honk. Alas, if that is my biggest qualm with the vehicle, I shall remain quite satisfied.

Excellent car

The safest car l have ever owned. The Crosstrek now has a new frame that makes it a lot quieter. It has good mileage both in the city and on the highway. It is a great car for its value.

Love my crosstrek

I traded in my Outback for a Crosstrek. While I loved my Outback, I wanted to downsize so I bought the Crosstrek. I love it, it drives great, handles well, is comfortable and a joy on the road.

Love!

I did a lot of research online before buying and the Crosstrek had all of the qualities I was looking for. It was within my price range, has great safety ratings, is the perfect size, and has great features (heated seats and side mirrors, eyesight, etc). It handles really well and has a very smooth ride. I'm in love!

This is the Crosstrek to own...

I purchased the six-speed manual in Premium trim?this is a tough car to find in inventory; most are sold before they roll off the truck. I?m 2,000 miles into my ownership experience, and all in all, I like the car. The complaint of being under-powered is not an issue for me, and maybe that?s because I can throw my own gears. Here are the things I hate, and the things I love about my new Crosstrek. THINGS I HATE Little things that are not deal-breakers, but annoyances? such as?1: Coarse, hoarse starter; this sounds like the first mechanical component I will need to replace. The starter sounds like it?s already got 70,000 miles on the odometer. 2: Despite a larger gas tank (16.6 gallons) the gas tank gauge still has 13-gallon markers (Subie looks like they borrowed from the hybrid bin). 3: I can?t buy a Limited in manual transmission, so I?m stuck without satellite, nav and leather (whine, whine, whine). I will one day probably punch a hole in the roof, and add after-market leather. 4: Thank you for the six gears; however, this is still really a car that cruises best at 60mph? if you plan to spend considerable time north of 70mph, you may want to opt out of the manual transmission ? rev lines will be north of 3200rpm beginning at 70mph. 5: Subie needs to borrow some wind-tunnel time from Toyota; when it rains, air flow over the rear window, combined with the wet, traps the water and slaps it against the sill. 6: Don?t get me started on the infotainment system ? it?s terrible on a good day. THINGS I LOVE 1: A 16.6-gallon fuel tank (actually, about 17.3 gallons when filling to the neck of the filler). I love a car with range. 2: A much-improved ride over the first generation XV? despite its weight, the car?s ride quality makes me feel like I?m in a larger car ? smooth, composed, none of the harsh, choppy ride from the first generation. 3: Quiet! Quieter than the 2016 Outback I owned (which was a nightmare?the Outback suffered from a low-frequency harmonic cacophony around 55 to 62 mph?gave me terrible headaches). 4: Manual transmission! I?m a coaster ? I have several hilly roads on my commute?it?s great to take advantage of gravity and save a little bit of gas. I?ve never had confidence in the metallurgic properties of Subaru?s CVTs, so I jumped when the six-speed manual finally made its debut on the Crosstrek. 5: Easy in, easy out: doors swing ride and seat height means no crouching ? perfect for my elderly parents. 6: Did I say ground clearance? We just had a nasty one-two punch with snow and ice? man, this car cannot be stopped; I no longer have anxiety about trying to reach my loved ones down an unplowed road in a raging storm. The Crosstrek will do it. I?m averaging 32mph around town. It?s quite possible to reach 40mpg, like I did when I took delivery of my car in Boston and drove it home to N Delaware. My first snowstorm in the Crosstrek proves that it works well? the Crosstrek doesn?t have the mass to make me feel as comfortable as I?d like in heavy snow, and the back feels like it wants to induce a spin, but the car goes. If you like old school, the 6MT is for you? why is it I see millions of Outbacks and Foresters pre-2006, but fewer post-2006 models? Old school, low-tech, honest-to-goodness build quality. The 2018 Crosstrek manual is old-school tech. Quite honestly, where else are you going to buy a vehicle so capable at a price that won?t break your budget? I hope to keep it forever.
