Scions tweak all the other details Toyota forgets
The car is nice. It has four wheels. The color is good. The doors are all shut. The ignition turned on. It also had windows that rolled down.

Safe sporty fun car!
I previously had a Scion XA that I picked up at an auto Auction! The end of April I had a near fatal accident in which I had to be cut out of the car. For hitting an embankment, being airborne, then sliding into a field the car kept us safe.

Fun car to drive!
I bought the Scion xD in 2008 right when it came out. I use to have the xA but they discontinued making it. I got this in stick shift which was but after having the car for 9 years I was getting a little tired of shifting gears. It was a fun car to drive. I took it into the Smoky Mountains and it held up pretty well on the winding roads. I was getting 37 miles to the gallon! The gas mileage was amazing!!! Unfortunately a tree fell on my car in June 2017 and my insurance totaled it. I was sad since I almost had it 10 years but I would still recommend this car to anyone. They stopped making them but I still see a bunch of them out on the roads. I also did some car camping out of it back in 2012. If you put the back seats down you can fit snuggled in the back. Great car!!!

Very Reliable, Point A to B Car
I thought this vehicle met all of my needs at the time. It was a perfect car for commuting. No problems whatsoever. Made two cross country trips without so much as a hiccup. Averaged around 32 MPG - Great car for young student in High School or College.

My First Scion
After months of searching for an affordable fuel - efficient vehicle I came across the 2008 Scion xD, and after a 15 minute test drive, I fell in love with this car. As a soon-to-be college student it was important to find a reliable and economical car. I purchased the car with 120K miles (which scared me at first) but it drives like a brand new car. In the past five months I have driven about 3500 miles and other than an oil change, it hasn't needed any maintenance or repairs. I consistently get between 34-36 mpg on the interstate and about 28-32 around town - a drastic change from my old Buick. It definitely isn't the most stylish looking car out there... It handles surprisingly well around corners, and it is really fun to drive. Sure there is road noise, but with the radio on I hardly notice. The A/C works well and the heat really warms the car up in very little time. It lacks a center arm rest and center storage, but there are plenty of other unique storage spaces. Also with the rear seats folded down there is plenty of cargo space. It has great rear visibility, the rear window seems much larger on the inside, but the visibility in the front is slightly obstructed by the large pillars - just have to be careful around sharp curves. The only other negative I have about my particular car is that my check engine light has been on since I purchased the vehicle and it was diagnosed as having a faulty gas cap, but after several different gas caps, including one from the dealer, the light continues to stay on. It doesn't seem like anyone else has this problem, and it does not effect the mpg or the engine. I have read many reviews about its poor handling in the snow and as a Vermonter I am slightly nervous, but I've invested in studded snow tires to help the cars handling. Overall it has treated me well so far and is an inexpensive, economical vehicle that hopefully will last for many years.

Fuel-efficient vehicle
Pros: Driver's position in the cabin has enough head and leg room for a person 6' 6 " tall. Nice little vehicle with hatchback and fold-down rear seats for hauling cargo. Fuel efficient -- between 30 and 35 MPG -- and I'm not exactly a slowpoke. Handles well and manual shift helps with added acceleration boost when needed. Inside compartment and overall fit and trim are nicely done. My wife has a SCION XD also (same year ), so I knew what I was getting before I purchased this as a used vehicle for my own personal use. Cons: Seat comfort is adequate for getting around town or for short trips, but seat angle does not support thigh for a very tall driver, so long trips (2 hours or more) can be very uncomfortable after a while. Acceleration is not great when you need to pass in a hurry, but that is to be expected performance for a small fuel-efficient engine. As mentioned above in "Pros", a manual transmission helps to compensate for some of that "shortcoming". Other Comments: Roomy enough for 5 normal adults for trips about town, or for short-range trips, but for long trips requiring luggage, this could be challenging for 4 people. Overall, I'm very happy with my SCION XD, as is my wife, who's had hers for a couple years now.

Another Great Cars that I've Owned
Earlier this year I traded my Scion XD for another car. I wanted to let other people know what a great car my Scion was. I bought it used in great condition with about 16,000 miles on it. It was a speacial Release Series 1.0, 1,996 of 2,000 made. It was a burnt orange color called "Hot Lava" with matching color accents on the interior - dash, doors, seats, steering wheel, etc. The basic interior color was black. I never had any problems with my Scion XD. I just performed the regular maintainence required - oil changes, alignments, balancing and rotating tires, checking fluids, etc. I only owned it for a little over a year, but it was a great car. I drove it to Dallas and back (aprox. 1,000 miles) without any problems at all. I think I got around 30-33 mpg on the trip. My only complaint was that I was only getting about 20-22 mpg around town. That could have just been because I only drove it short distances most of the time though. I may have just happened to get lucky, but based on my exerience with my Scion XD - I would definately recommend one. My previous car was also made by Toyota and I loved it!

Great Urban Runabout
The Scion xD was our affordable option to find a small, four-door, manual transmission vehicle that's good for running errands around town. It holds five people, gets good gas mileage, is fun to drive, and fits into the tiniest of parking spaces. The interior feels roomy for a small car (I'm 6'2) and we can haul three kids in the back seat with no problem. Our only criticism is the awkward placement of the cup holders, but it's a minor flaw. Overall, we've been very pleased with the Scion.
