Reliable, great gas mileage, bigger inside than lo

Hybrids can get expensive if you need to replace the batteries or generator. Cvt transmissions are expensive to fix and not proven in reliability. So the fit and some other newer small hatch cars were out. Don't want a manual car as resale can be bad and don't like having to shift gears. Been waiting to get a great condition used xa to pull behind our rv. Bought down south as I hate snapping fasteners on rusty cars. 39mpg driving home. 70 k miles, great shape, didn't even hassle on price as it was exactly what I wanted. Br ought 50 inch and 58 inch tvs home from black Friday both in it! Has some typical things that can need replaced like rear wheel bearings, rears are cheap and easy to do, and cruise is expensive and aftermarket if you want it, but a used xa is an excellent choice in a used car if you want reliability, great mpg, and value. I bought a used Scion

I was a little hesitant to buy a 2006 car. This one is awesome! My mechanic told me this will take me well into the 300,000 mile range. Runs beautifully, needs a paint job which I will take care of later. I highly recommend this model 2006 Scion XA

I can't leave it alone

I've had two 2006 Scion XAs, one brand new, and one used, and am looking for my third. Everytime I sell one and buy something else, I regret it and start looking for another Scion. I sold the last one to my Granddaughter. I hate the car I replaced it with. the Scion is roomy, has quick pickup, comfortable seats and plenty of cargo room for hauling stuff. I called it my little truck. Can go 400 miles on a tank of gas, ( tank is 12-13 gallons)

Best commuter car, great gas mileage

I really really like this car and want to keep it because I just bought another one but I can’t afford the insurance on both of the vehicles. This has been a very reliable car for me and very easy to maintain. Excellent gas mileage. I can’t say enough about it.

Love it so much I own 2

Owned my first scion for 5 years. Bought it 8yrs old with over 200,000 miles on it. In those 5yrs I put over 100,000 miles on it. Then it just stopped running at 305,000 miles. We don't knows what's wrong with it, it won't read out anything. We replaced the spark plugs, fuel pump and filter and it still won't start. So, I bought another one just like it. This one is 13yrs old and only has 120,000 miles on it. My first Scion had issues, and electrical problems, whoever owned it before me didn't take good care of it. But with that being said, I only had to do minimal work to it. I replaced a belt, the altinator, 2 coil packs, the breaks and the battery. I drove it everywhere and it honestly was the most reliable car I ever owned. I loved it so much that I bought another one just like it, same year and model. This one should last me 10 years or more. It's honestly pretty fast and gets 38 highway miles per gallon, and it's so small that I can literally park it anywhere. Yet, it's still pretty roomy. I once put a full sized futon in the back with the seats down. I love Scions and Toyota's in general, I'll never buy any other car!

You get what you paid for

Its a very small economical car, which is what i bought it for. However, it hates highway speeds, has very limited power and interior space and minimal comfort. That being said, i get 35-39 mpg with it which saves me a ton of money on gas. If you wanna break the speed limit, carry other people or travel in comfort, this is not tbe car for you. If you want a safe, reliable and economical car for cheap, its a good choice

It's emotional. I love it

It is a very solid, quality vehicle. Mechanically, it runs...no...it purrs. The interior room is very efficient for cargo and people. The metal flake blue exterior isn't bad either!

A Parent's Dream

Five years ago we bought an '06 Scion xA manual showing 95,000 miles for our daughter, who was then a junior in high school, and it has turned out to be a wonderful choice for both her and for us. After much angst, it took her all of a day to figure out the stick shift and clutch - something that certainly gives her pride and greater ability to navigate travel abroad. For us, that has meant little worry about others driving her car! The xA is very well appointed for a compact economy car and the build quality is impeccable. The seats are comfortable and wear well, interior surfaces are upscale, and the xA has a very good Pioneer radio with an Aux port. Over five years and 60,000 miles, the xA (I call it "the Zah") has needed nothing beyond fluids, filters, wipers and tires. Not even brakes. The engine has a timing chain, rather than a timing belt, so although noisier there is no routine belt change that requires a competent and expensive mechanic. The xA manual has very low gearing - fourth and fifth gear are very near the same - so highway driving gets frantic after about 70 mph and the noise from under the hood serves as a governor on the "loud pedal". Another thing for parents to appreciate! That gearbox is a hoot to drive around town though; it always puts a smile on your face! The xA is also very easy to parallel park - my wife marvels at the on-street city spots our daughter squeezes it into. To summarize, the xA is a solid, safe, thrifty, sporty, reliable choice. Anticipate going beyond 200,000 miles without issue.

Most reliable car I have owned so far

This car is so realiable. Had 221,000 miles with NO major and very few minor repairs. The flood waters damaged this car otherwise I would still he driving her. She was in top running order bf the flood. I could haul feed for my horses, tote my dogs around, carry 5 people. Tight but I could in a bind. Excellent MPG.

Very reliable car.

Small body handles nicely. Surprisingly roomy interior for such a small car. Bought it used. Been driving it for six years with no major issues. Very reliable. Just pushed over 200 k miles. No sign of slowing down!
