Roomy Luxury SUV

I am in love with my new car. It is a 2008 but it looks brand new. It has been taken care of very well. All the bells and whistles work. It is roomy and comfortable for myself and my husband. Can’t wait to take it on a road trip.

Reliable, comfortable, practical

We have really enjoyed this car. I'm only giving it up because we now have my father's car. Now that the transmission, timing chain and other big overhauls have been made, I can't imagine why it wouldn't give its next owner thousands of miles more.

Very Good Family car!

This car is perfect for a family. Can seat 8 bodies, has bucket seating, and is very comfortable. I feel safe with my family in this car.

Meets Lemon criteria!! Do not buy this vehicle!!!

This vehicle was bought used with 74,000. It has been in the shop more than on the road!! It has costed more in repairs than the original price paid for it. I am disgusted with the car dealership and the manufacturer!

Less issues than my newer vehicle

The car has met all my families needs, has traveled all across the country as well as up and down the country as well. It seats 8, although we rarely used the back seat. Highway driving at speed is not at all loud unless the road needs work. Drives very well as a daily driver for 4 person family.

Buyer Beware

I browsed Cars.com for 2 years looking for the right car for our growing family. We own a 2003 Saturn ION that we love so we decided to stay in the Saturn family and look for an Outlook. We found a 2008 Saturn Outlook from a small dealer in the Twin Cities, MN area. Test drove perfectly, made an appointment with our local mechanic here in ND and drove it home. This was February 16, 2016. Twenty-Four hours later (before mechanics appointment) I drove it to a party 10 minuets from my home and after the party I got into it and it wouldn't start at first. Next day we took it to the mechanic and learned that the alternator, battery, tires and breaks all needed to be replaced, We did this and it ran smoothly until November 2017. I am a mother of 4, my husband is a disabled war Veteran, we are on a very tight budget and I do not drive my cars hard, I need them to last so I take very very good care of them. Winters in ND are cold, right before Thanksgiving I went to start the Outlook and it wouldn't start. Had it towed to a local mechanic and the timing chain was gone. since we are not well-to-do people we had to wait for tax season so it sat till February 2018. Again, fixed, ran smoothly until May 2018 when the transmission went. So right now I have a car sitting in my garage that I can not drive but still have to make payments on. Its a beautiful car, nice interior, very comfortable, nice smooth drive but a piece of crap under the hood.

Better than some people said!

I'd seen some less than flattering reviews for this car, but it was one of the few that could meet our needs. After driving it for a while now, I like it! I have no idea what car other people were driving, but I am happy with it. The gas mileage could be better, but I regularly get 21 -24, just "like it said on the tin"! It's too soon to talk about reliability, but I see from it's history it appears to have been well looked after a without any real big problems. Time will tell, but we are real happy so far with the vehicle. I hope it stays with us for many years to come!

Great Car for the Money

This car exceeded my expectations. The comfort, styling and handling are all superior! The Saturn Outlook won many awards in 2008 and I see why. Very happy with my purchase!

Reliable for 170k and counting

PRO: It has been very reliable with 170k miles and counting. This car is huge. It seats 7 adults. The 3rd row is adult human sized. It has a tow package that alters the transmission function when towing up to 5,000 pounds. It was loaded with features and is AWD. It is a great car for long haul family trips. Drives like big Buick ...soft and smooth. It takes 85 octane gas. CONS: I get 18 mpg w/ mixed driving and 20MPG on the highway. It has a low resale value compared to Honda and Toyota. Its Huge and feels/ drives big.
