Transmission just fell out again

Have a 2016 dodge promaster 2500 in the last 10000 miles I've had two transmissions shear the bolts off of the driver's side transmission bracket and the transmission basically falls out and hits the road. The first time I was doing 65mph and am lucky to be alive the second time I simply put the van into reverse in my driveway and it was laying on the road once again. If you're a business owner all you will have is lost time money and low moral of the employees that can't work because they have a broke down van once again. If dodge can't do better than this they need to fire some engineers or just shut the doors and quit screwing over the American people. It's a disgrace to build such a money pit unreliable vehicle they should be sued

worst van i ever owned

this car was the worst from day 1. Doors locks don't work, now the rear door doesn't open. Fan module went, intake manifold cracked and leaked fluid all over my pavers. windshield wipers motor went during snow storm. headlights go all the time. transmission just went and i only have 67,800 miles on this vehicle. then there's the list of small items.

65,000 miles and needs a new engine

2 weeks after we made our last payment the engine blew. We towed it to our mechanic and after he did $2400 worth of repairs, like replacing the water pump, the thermostat etc. he then realized the block was cracked and the head caskets were leaking. We took it to the dealer were we purchased the promaster they said $9800.00 to put in a new engine. Since it only had 65000 miles on it they had us contact the manufacturer to see if they would give us some help. The manufacturer said there was nothing they could do for us. It was no longer under any warranty. The dealer said there was nothing they could do for us. They only sell the product, they don’t make it. We should have traded it in years ago. It was always being repaired for something, since the day we bought it. We keep it perfectly maintained and have all of the records of maintenance and repairs. Now we we have a nice big paid for, hunk of junk. DO NOT BUY A RAM. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THIER PRODUCT.

not much thought put into it

not designed for comfort. not designed well for the working person. electrical problems including door locks, and security problems including remote key, having to purchase new key and programming to computer. most disappointing thing was when during warranty window time had taken to dealer where it was purchased for an antifreeze/coolant leak and they said they could not find any leak. took to mechanic elsewhere and diagnosed needing radiator replacement from leak. Also returned to dealer to check front end alignment after vehicle pulling to one side, having to hold steering wheel, and they said that it was fine. Took vehicle to tire discounters and they said it was needing alignment and should have brought it sooner because of the obvious tire wear. Guess they do not like to do warranty repair. ☹️

Mechanically poor

All hinges/ sliders a constantly breaking even with careful use. Driver and passenger door retaining bracket keeps breaking. Side sliding door Koch keeps breaking. Side sliding door sometimes wants to hop off. Lights on top of Van Are leaking water. Service is every 8000 km, I have to bring the van in every 4000 km in , dice something breaks. Had to replace the transmission, replace the radiator, the last scheduled service cost $6700 due to various gaskets leaking. Driving very carefully, and still keeps falling apart.

Quirky but I like this van/truck.

It is highly utilitarian, no frills. Highy efficient fuel wise. Semi automatic transmission annoyed me at first but actually works extremely well. Only relibility problem was bad battery ground connector cam lock. It caused lots of problems.

Great work van for the money

Very strong motor and easy to drive. Based on the Fiat Ducato full-size cargo van sold in Europe, the ProMaster competes with the Nissan NV, Ford Transit and Chevrolet Express yet the Promaster has way more "curb appeal" than any of the others.

Worst xxx vehicle ever manufactured!!

It makes good scrap for the junkyards! I want to slap the people at FCA for treating the consumers like idiots. My transmission puked at 506 miles!!! Before that it was everything you could name went wrong. The mechanics told me they have never seen such a poorly built vehicle ever and they cringe every time one comes in. My attorney forced them to refund my money and now anything made in Mexico of that is made by FCA can kiss my ***! You will never fool me twice....

The backup camera siren is so fricken loud I think I’m going deaf from it! Ram needs to recall the siren and put the ones from like 2015 in them they were not as ear piercing as these new ones!

Nothing but Problems right from the start

It was the best fit for our companies use but both the 2014 1nd the 2016 we own have had tons of electrical issues. We waited 6 months once for parts after a minor accident. It rides well and handles the loads well , and that is the rub. These trucks are absolutely trash. The motor seems great its a Penstar v-6 very popular engine. That is probably the only thing that has not broken. We havehad issues with most othet syetems for example , New Radiator after 20,000 miles , electrical gremlins that are to numerous to list. Suspension and Brake parts failing. Power steering unit replaced. For the topper at 78,000 miles and well over $6,000 in uncovered repairs with the extended warranty mind you. The transmission has just failed and will need to be replaced or rebuilt. This is the last straw we have 2 of these and they are both terrible. Never Again. Horrible reliability overall
