Pontiac Vibe review
One of the ratings categories that is missing above but important to us is safety. The Vibe does very well in crash test ratings for passive safety and the availability of ABS, side/side curtain airbags and Stabilitrak clinched it for us. We enjoy the overall driving experience even more than we expected. The utility is an added plus, we've hauled furniture, hot water tanks, and more in it. Reliability has been excellent through 17K miles and as the weather cools and the A/C is not on 100%, our mileage has been consistently in the 30-31 mpg range with an automatic. Negatives: maybe noise level but other owners tell us that upgraded tires will improve that. The Vibe is fun, practical, economical, and recommended.

Most versatile car I've owned
I am very pleased with my new Vibe. The Vibe is reliable and economical. This is a great car for moving your teenagers to and form college. I especially like the way it handles in city driving. The versatlity is amazing.

First two months are good
I have car only 2 months and nothing broke yet. There is no sarcasm here; I owned other Pontiac models in the past. This is beatified Toyota, therefore expectations are better then average and it is not a new model. I love the way car handles, accelerate, manual shifter and ergonomics of the shifter. The controls (HVAC) are behind shifter, so they are obscured and changes in environment require planning. Optional stereo and sunroof are source of pleasure. This is it for Vibe GT, but those options can be had in "regular" Vibe and I highly recommend them. Perhaps high rev/high horsepower engine is lost on me, I would not recommend auto transmission with lower output engine. I think, lower end engine when not revved high will perform as well as mine, since the torque curve is similar. Lovely car, a bit noisy, but lovely.

"Fun, Reliable and great on Gas!"
I traded in a Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 on this wonderful little Vibe! My husband at first was very optimistic but now he loves it as much as I do. I drive approx. 60 miles back and forth to work and have been constantly averaging 32 mpg. I haven't taken it on a trip yet but friends have one and they average 38 mpg on the highway. We are in our 50's and love this car. It's comfortable and easy to get in and out of which is important. Ours is Silver and easy to keep clean. I would not hesitate on recommending this car to anyone of any age. I have another Jeep which is the Liberity. They are fun but hard on gas just like the wrangler which I owned one of those too. I wouldn't take the finest Jeep that make over my VIBE! If you are looking you need to buy!

reliable car that is fun to drive
Have owned our Vibe for 3 years, got one of the first models available upon release. Have driven more than 36,000 miles on all types of roads in the USA and UK. Only fault has been a failed water pump at 30,000 miles. Other than that, its been great. Ride is good for short distances, noise is a bit on the high side, would prefer a quieter cabin when we drive. Other than that, its been a good, reliable car. We will be in the UK for 2 years, getting simple repair and maintenance parts, i.e. filters, etc, may be a challenge.

Great MPG
Test drive a 5-speed manual, and you'll be sold. The manual has plenty of power.Fit and finish are excellent, and interior is roomy. The armrest is too low for comfort, but is easy to replace.Everything else is great. Close to 40mpg on Hwy! I LOVE this car..

Great car
Love the Matrix/Vibe. I bought a Vibe and love it. Great price for anti-lock breaks, sunroof, monsoon sound system, remote keyless entry, power windows. Rides awesome, great gas mileage, very comfortable seats. Engine noise is a little loud, but this is a subcompact vehicle. Highly recommend it.

Great little wagon
I am 6ft 4inches tall and have a sun roof with still head room. Nice car but a little under powered. Great on gas and at almost three bucks a gallon still under 30 dollars to fill it up YEAH
