Sorry they're no longer made ...

I bought the GXP new with the 303 hp 5.3 liter GM engine and paddlewheel shift on the steering column. Front wheels were deliberately different size from the rear wheels. Gorgeous hot rod that I purchased for around $26K. It got to 60 in 5.8 seconds. By contrast, a buddy of mine spent $80K on a BMW 640I that had 350 hp and made zero to 60 in 5.3 seconds. I think I got the best deal. The car was a wonderful vehicle with over-sized wheels and that hot dependable 5.3 liter engine. Had "frog" lights that were amazing, along with HUD which sold me on that option. I loved it dearly but sold it to a neighbor lady who gave it to her daughter. Trashed it pretty quickly ... just wish Pontiac was still in business.

One of the best cars to have.

This type of car is very reliable. It will get you from point A to point B without any problems. There is excellent space inside the car. The amount of money you will save on gas for this car is phenomenal. Great for family's of four. The car runs very smooth and the car can fit in almost any parking spot. Making your driving test a little more easy.

Fun, Affordable, Cool

This is my first car. I could not have gotten a better first car. They have enough power to keep things interesting, they have good fuel consumption, and they are cheap to repair because they are made in the USA.

Awesome ride

My very first car when I was 17 was a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix base model. It was a good little car with minimal problems and balanced power/ mpg. It got totalled at 120k miles when i was hit head on at about 40 mph. I was quick to look for grand prix and pretty quickly purchased another 06. Only difference was I went out on a limb and purchased a GXP model with the LS4 V8. It had 152k miles and ran great. (Just had to change the power steering pump). 303hp stock, It was fully loaded with paddle shifters, touch screen navigation, HUD- it had everything except a sunroof which doesnt bother me at all. This car got me into the hype of LS powered cars even being the least powerful of the LS family, it was and still is ridiculously awesome. Only major problem was my transmission went out at 165k miles. Had it rebuilt and ever since ive been rockin the Front wheel drive LS4. Its a great overall car awesome trunk space and 4cyl mode (dod) boosts the mpg to make the Grand Prix a good daily driver. I highly recommend if you want a daily drivable LS, but make sure youre willing to invest in the transmission.

Not a reliable car to own

While the car is nice on inside and out it has many issues such as you never know when it will stall out on you and the power steering is also very bad.

Love the GXP

Love the power of the V8, comfort, handling, and style of the sedan that drives like a sports car. Highly recommend.
