Horrible Car

I used to drive a 2004 Murano SL, and it was always giving me problems, constant misfires, o2 sensors going out, horrible gas mileage (I was averaging 7mpg before I got rid of it) and no amount of parts changing fixed it, it would just break again the next day, all this being under 200k miles

It's Okay

While I liked this car a lot, I don't recommend it with the advancements of newer cars or different brands. I bought this car from a first owner who had a private mechanic do all repairs. There was a small oil leak at first. I've had to do about $2,700 worth of repairs in the past 2 years. The biggest flaw of this vehicle is the relatively quick wear of the engine. It's good for an in-city drive, but not a commuter. I had the valve rings replaced, now experiencing valve seal issues and will not bother getting it fixed anymore. Tons of new parts: water pump, radiator hose, radiator, several pistons, camshaft connectors, rotator arms, and O2 sensors. I do think this car is very spacious and stylish. It easily drives on any kind of terrain and is excellent for carrying oversized items. I would say it's good when the odometer is under 200k. Any higher than that and it's basically guaranteed to just crumble apart.

Had to replace the CVT transmission

Generally, I have liked the vehicle, but I would probably not buy my next vehicle with a CVT, despite the claims of better gas mileage. I will research my next purchase very carefully.

Excellent car, a very contrable to drive

I keep the maintenance up to today, oil change, transmission, and the car runs without a problem, I haven't' have any mayor issue, so I don't know if it expensive, already 165000KM, and still very nice ride and safe.

Too many problems with age

We bought this car for $4K used, 170,000km on it, thought it was a great deal. Within the first year we had to do $3000 of repair on it and our mechanic says it is just all rusting out and will continue to need pricey repairs, so we are getting rid of it within a year.

car is fine but has a known issue

I found out that there is a known issue with the car. Not sure if it is only to the Murano or with all Nissans. The driver seat broke at the track on the floor. When I called to see about fixing it I was told it was a known issue and the seat needs to be replaced for $1100! This is dangerous as the seat is only held down on one side. If there was a wreck a seatbelt wouldn't have been enough. Very unhappy with Nissan. Guess there haven't been enough deaths to make them do anything. Won't buy another one

Best car in bad weather I ever owned

It's going to live forever! 14 years old and still going strong, drives great. I bought it brand new, it's had the alternator replaced twice, and just maintenance. No problems other than cosmetic with age.

best car for family or couples , very luxury

since I've had it, i only had to change fluids, very comfort leather seat, and it has sunroof for summer and heat seat for winter. AWD durable driving in city or in mountains. if i didn't fix my Nissan Altima, i'd have kept this car.
