Great Car!

I love this car! My parents gave it to me as a high school graduation present. I have to admit I wasn't to excited about it at first but when i took it for a ride on the highway at first I fell in love with it. The maneuverability of it is wonderful and it is just overall a great car. The only thing I think would be better about it would be the interior. It is pretty dull other than that it is a wonderful vehicle.

Should be a recal on acuator

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. The acuator went out. Thats basically an electric motor that controls the heat. Look online & you'll see this is a common problem with the vehicle. There are many complaints. It should be a recal. It's an expensive vehicle to buy & to have fixed. It's going to cost approx. $350 - $475 to get that fixed. Again I'll say THIS SHOULD BE A RECAL ITEM!!!!

I Love This Car

My parents gave me a 1988 Plymouth voyager minivan as my very first car, and in October 04 I bought this Galant as my first paid-for car. I figured it'd be better than my van, but I absolutely love this car! I bought it used from a rent-a-car sales spot with 31000 miles on it, and today at 132000 miles on it, it still drives like the first time I drove it. I have done all the preventive maintenance myself (brakes, oil changes, plugs, wires, etc), and the only time it went to a shop was when the spark plug blasted out the head (and the engine still ran with only 3 cylinders!), but that was my fault for not tightening the plug when I changed it. Other than that, no problems. Yes, the brakes wear out fast, but I drive hard anyway (the car can and will do the advertised 120mph on the speedo) so I expect to change brakes often. It's not as quiet as some cars, but it gives BMW's, Benzes, and others a run for their money and it drives better than the accord, camry, etc. (I had a 2007 Sebring rental when I had a fender bender, and I couldn't wait to get my Galant back--that thing drives horribly) and the engine is so smooth, you can't hear it in top gear at speed. I love this car, everyone I know knows it, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Performs well, very reliable, and almost 30 mpg!

Love everything about this car. Engine and transmission are powerful, smooth, quiet and reliable. Handles and excellerates like a sports car. Good gas mileage. Low repair costs. Good crash ratings. And a leather interior that is very hard mess up. I'm so happy I didn't pay thousands more for a Honda or Toyota of the same year and mileage.

Good Sedan for the Money

I purchased my 2003 Galant ES as a used car in October of 2004. Previously, I had owned a Mitsubishi Mirage, so I was familiar with Mitsubishi vehicles. Test driving this Galant, which has the 2.4 L. four cylinder engine, I was pleasantly surprised with the acceleration, particularly as I had read reviews which characterized this engine's performance as sluggish. Since my last four cars have all had four cylinder engines, I do not place a premium on high performance engines. The car rides well, and I have never felt any lack of control on the often winding roads in my area. Road noise is reasonably under control, but the Galant is not as quiet as some Accords and Camrys in which I have ridden as a passenger. I consider the exterior styling of my Galant to be very attractive, while the interior is a bit plain but functional. Other than a front brake problem , my Galant has been trouble free for the 20,000 miles I have driven it. Fuel economy has been very good. I would recommend this car to anyone seeking a well constructed and reliable four door sedan at a reasonable price.
