What Is the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

The 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata is powered by a 181-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a standard six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive two-seater comes with a standard manual-folding soft-top; a nifty but pricey RF model has a power-folding retractable hardtop. The MX-5 is built on the same platform as the Fiat 124 Spider, and other rivals include the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ.

What’s New on the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

New standard active safety features include low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. The midlevel Club trim now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, while manual-transmission Grand Touring models now have the limited-slip differential, Bilstein shocks and a front shock tower brace from the Club trim. A gray soft-top and red Nappa leather interior are also available for the Grand Touring.

What Features in the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata Are Most Important?

The MX-5 Miata’s most important features are the kind you can’t check off on a list of specs: seductive looks, brisk acceleration, crisp handling, a convertible top that’s easy to fold and raise, and the ability to make you smile every time you get behind the wheel.

Should I Buy the 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata?

If you can afford nearly $28,000 for a highly impractical car, go for it. Your reward will be the enjoyment of driving it.

State of the art fun car

I purchased this car to have a small convertible for pleasure use and it's perfect for my needs. The Soul Red color is beautiful. I am a big guy but after a little maneuvering of my body to enter it, I feel very comfortable in it. It's a 6 speed manual with a short but smooth shift knob. Lots of extras and features and still have to learn to navigate some of them. It has enough power for my needs and great gas mileage. Only wish it had automatic climate control and a little less road noise on the highway. The lane departure alert is very sensitive and irritating but is a good trade off for safety. It needs a cabin trunk release knob and if it has one, I can't find it. I would prefer leather seats and Bose radio system but my cloth seats are comfortable with excellent quality fabric and the 6 speaker radio is acceptable to someone who's not an audiophile. Lastly, would love automatic headlight dimmers so I don't blind oncoming drivers at night! Overall, I now know why it is so highly rated and I love it already.

Track Ready!Rural NS Top Down Fun -THE BEST EVER

When I am 64! I loved it as soon as I drove it. Still do. Not practical or extremely comfortable but that isn't the point of a MX5. A 6 speed manual transmission with the BBS/Brembo/Recaro GS-P. Just so you can feel every wheel on the road. Exactly the way it should be in a Fun Race Car :). Car is rated for 40 mpg ++. Who cares! ( I have a Prius for daily driver) The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts. With forged pistons, rods, crankshaft sports tuning I am having those thoughts. Its time for another South Shore rural road "Flight". :) Signed Retired Fly Boy!
