The Mazda treatment after 40 years of loyalty :(
This car had a check engine light come on on at 14K miles. The code was CA126, engine not reaching temperature. The dealer which I had purchased it and 7 other new Mazda's from said it was a known problem and that parts would not be available for 6 months. but Mazda is still building and selling car's with the needed part. They dealer said to keep driving it. Being an engineer with an automotive background I knew that this would likely result in damage that would not surface until long after the warranty. I tried to buy a new 2022 but they admittedly lowballed me on the trade value stating they didn't want to inventory it for six months. I said then use it in your loaner fleet. They declined. I spent over a weeks time without interruption trying to contact Mazda North America and Mazda Japan using various methods with ZERO response! Don't believe me Try it yourself ;) I could not have my 62 year old wife driving a car around with a problem. This is how I was treated after buying new Mazda's for 40 years. Yes, FORTY years. Almost forgot to mention this "problem' has been around since 2018 affecting various models. Several attempts to correct the issue have all failed. Time to admit to a bad design, start with a clean sheet of paper, and step up to the plate and admit to your shortcomings. Mazda seems to have a problem with doing so on several issues from the above, to clutch discs prematurely failing, windshields cracking and more. Google is your friend ;) It has been replaced by a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox which the wife has begun to like more than her Mazda's.

Nice car, should have a touch screen
Really like this car, have had it for 6 months. Only issues I have is the home screen- it's not a touch screen? All the buttons are in the middle console, not great access when driving. The tire light comes on when the outside temp goes below freezing. Never sure if it's just cold or actually a low tire, have to always check it to be safe.

Too many cons, including VERY firm ride.
Firm ride quality absolutely kills this car. Tested over 30 new cars with my wife in our search for a replacement for her, and the CX-5 notched below the 2021 Rav4 (also a terrible vehicle) in our rankings. High points (not many): Pysical buttons and switches; dash isn't overly tall like on some Jeeps/Ford's, so front visibility is good; turbo is moderately powerful Lows (a lot of 'em): Drives terribly-- overly firm suspension crashes over bumps and transmits EVERY little road imperfection (this is a really bad modern car trend, of trying to "make cars sporty" by making the suspension rock hard); effort to turn the steering wheel is too great (we're not trying to build muscle while driving our car nor are we wanting to throw our car into corners at 55mph); interior materials look nice, but feel incredibly cheap; visibility out the back and sides is abysmal due to the beltline flair and think C-pillars; and one that most folks miss--- the accelerator pedal is floor-mounted (like the Rav), which means it offers HORRIBLE feedback to your foot on modulating the throttle (translates to you having to mash the pedal, jerkiness, etc. as opposed to a hanging pedal).

MAZDA CX-5 Is a PREMIUM SUV for less $$
This car is so comfortable. QUIET! And stylish. I put a lot of mikes on my car and I want my commute to be quiet and comfortable and fuel efficient. This car has ALL THAT and enough power to pass on highways. The all wheel drive makes the car stick to the road in rain and snow.

Sleek looking car and nice ride
I enjoy owning the Mazda CX-5. I previously had a 2018 Acadia. The CX-5 is smaller but I find the trunk space has adequate amount of room for items. Since I did not need a 3rd row rather I needed a car with more trunk space this car has worked nicely. The only change I had to get use to was being closer to the ground as the Acadia is higher up. That hasn’t been too bad of an adjustment.

After 4 weeks, loving our new CX-5
After owning several Honda’s we wanted something with more power and a more luxurious interior. The CX-5 turbo has met or exceeded our expectations. If you are considering a CX-5, I highly recommend getting the Turbo AWD model.

I read the reviews, and they were accurate.
The dashboard design is the best I’ve ever driven. It’s comfortable. It’s fun to drive and I’m hoping it has great reliability as the reviews say.

Luxury driving without the luxury headache
It’s zippy and holds tight to the road while offering finishes that are downright sexy. This is not your average mid-size SUV. The stitching alone separates it from its competitors and the Bose sound system is on point. The tech is on par with any luxury vehicle I’ve driven in the past.

CX5 review
I traded my 2020 CX 5 for a 2021 and so thrilled with the newest model. They have refined the screen, tweak the transmission to where it’s really a joy to drive now. The styling is great. It’s not too big, not too small, just right.
