Great car!
Nice looking vehicle and great safety features. Only drawback is the hatch auto close is not a standard feature on the middle to lowest model.

Great car for the money
Turbo version is quite fast, handles very well. Firm but controlled ride. Interior very well done and on a par with much more expensive cars.

Compelling, excellent small SUV
I’ve been driving a CX5 signature for 3 weeks now, and overall, very pleased with my purchase. Long time Honda man, previously owned a Civic, CRV, and Accord. Traded in a 2015 Accord because I really missed the driving position, space, and practicality of an SUV. The interior of this vehicle is gorgeous for the price. I’ve heard a few people griping about seat comfort. I have a a terrible back, and after some intital seat adjustments, I find the seats to be totally comfortable and supportive- with the Accord, I had to have a 1/4 inch of padding added to the front seat, as it was driving my back crazy. Pluses- This is the best handling vehicle I’ve ever owned, bar none. The steering precision is just perfect. Infotainment is good overall, not as bad as some make it out to be. My only gripe is that it’s slow to boot up, but once it’s “warmed up”, it works very well. Bose speakers are also a big upgrade for me. Minuses- Not many, but a couple. My biggest issue is that sometimes when I release the brake from a stopped position, the car judders a little bit before catching itself. Minor judder, but noticeable. Other issue is that I feel it’s a little laggy when accelerating at slower speeds (<20mph). Once it gets going though, the turbo accelerates nicely. However, I believe this issue has been mitigated since I’ve started feeding it higher octane gasoline (or maybe I’m just starting to break the engine in).

Uncomfortable seats
Great car but the front seats bolsters pinch too tightly, are too high and hard. After a longer commute my thighs actually hurt. I had a 2016 and everything is smaller and less convenient, the center console is small and the lid must be removed (without spilling the stuff in it) to get anything below it; the owners manual is thicker and glove compartment is smaller so there's little room for much other than gloves. You can't permanatly turn the heads up display off, it comes back on when you restart the car. The touchscreen also no longer responds when you touch it while moving, need to stop, otherwise you must use the commander knob. Turbo is very fast.

Awesome safety features!
My intention was to find a car that felt safer than my little Mazda3 and this suv exceeds my expectations. I not only feel safer bc it is bigger, the safety features are incredible. Highly recommend!!

Great handling and power with turbo engine
Mazda CX5 Grand Touring Reserve. Car is fun to drive, tons of power. It gets decent gas mileage. I am getting about 23 - 24 mpg in 75% city driving. Interior is excellent. Great BOSE stereo. Soft leather, good ergonomics. Back seat is a bit tight and putting a reverse facing child seat back there forces the front seat to have to move so far up that it is uncomfortable to sit in. That is a flaw. My only other complaint is that the gas tank is only about 15 gallons. Should be at least 18 gallons. Have to fill up more frequently than I would like.

I love my new 2019 Mazda CX -5 Touring edition!!!
After doing a lot of research online, plus through a one month subscription to Consumer Reports online access, I must say this is hands down the best bang for your buck, not to mention downright gorgeous. It looks like a luxury car inside and out. Consumer Reports ranks it 2nd out of 15, with the Subaru being #1 in the compact SUV/Crossover series. I would have never even considered a Mazda (don't have a valid reason why) if I had not read Consumer Reports. I actually was trying to decide between a Toyota Rav 4 and Nissan Rogue. Well, neither one of those lived up to the safety and reliability ratings across the board for the CX-5, including those done by the NTSB. That, combined with the fact that the CX-5 Touring edition (which is only 1 step above their most basic CX-5, the Sport) has many standard things on it that the other two have as options, making them $2,000-$3,000 more at least in the long run. You can't purchase any package upgrades for the CX-5 Sport. That's the only reason I didn't consider it, because the Sport is still not close to a stripped down model. What I wanted more than anything (other than a sunroof) after having to buy used cars with several miles on them since I started driving at 16 (37 years ago), was a top notch stereo. Boy did I get it with the BOSE 10 speaker stereo system!! I purchased only ONE optional package, which came with the Bose stereo, sunroof, and the SkyActiv option (which is AWESOME). Leather seats aren't available until you go up a step to the Grand Touring edition, which wasn't a deciding factor for me. I also have heated front seats/steering wheel, which has controls for cruise, stereo, voice texting and calling, which displays on the 7 inch backup screen just to name a FEW!! This SUV rides and handles like a DREAM, with plenty of room for 4 adults plus a nice sized cargo area. I can't say enough about this SUV. Coming in at just under $30,000 TOTAL, I couldn't be happier!

I had leased a 2016 CX5 and now lease the 2019
The new one is much quieter than the 2016 plus it is newly updated, Great vehicle. Only one complaint, can't play CDs. The color is soul red which is the same and the best red on the market.
