Other than a few tiny items, (i.e., tire pressure sensors), no repairs required of any kind, other than the standard maintenance items, in over 130k miles and 12 years. Wonderful car.

I've owned this car for nearly four years and it's proven to be extremely reliable as you would expect from the top of the line Lexus sedan. I've had a suspension control arm changed under CPO warranty but that's been it. Engine and transmission, all tech, everything has been perfect. I can't say enough good things about this car. Even today, 10 years old, it has features that are not even standard on many models of today. It was the first production car in the world with an 8 speed transmission. It has a remarkable engine producing 380 HP while being whisper quiet. It's engineering at the highest level. Push button start, keyless entry into the car (walk up and pull the handle with the key in your pocket and the door opens). I can get over 30 mpg on the highway when I try and it goes from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds. It's quiet, comfortable, quick, fun to drive (yes no lie), it's extremely easy to live with and since it never breaks down, cheap to own. You can pick up a nice used example for around $13-16k depending on miles. For that you can't even buy a cheap Jeep or Ford base model and this car is lightyears ahead of anything in that price range. It was $70000 new, and 10 years later, it still drives like a new car. It's amazing. 92200 miles on it and aside from the fact the interior doesn't look up to new car styling standards, you'd never guess it wasn't new. Such is the ride quality and performance of the car. I have no doubt it will do another 200k miles without major issues. It was just built to the highest standards from the get-go. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. In this case I have had a luxury car for four years, lost about $14k in depreciation and no headaches. That's a cheap entry into the luxury car market. Buy a new BMW and watch $20000 disappear when you drive out of the dealer's lot, not to mention their horrific reliability. Buy the Lexus!

If you are looking for an affordable luxury sedan you should consider the Lexus 460. It is the best built car in the world. It's very comfortable, fast (not too fast) and the suspension is superior. I highly recommend it.
