2004 Kia Optima consumer reviews

I bought this car in 2004 off the dealership lot with my first paycheck after getting hired on with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. It has taken me all across the United States. I have gotten more than my money's worth. As I approach my retirement next year, I'm shopping around for an autobody shop to restore it to its original luster. I've had 9 vehicles since I bought my 2004 KIA and none of them have been as reliable. My only complaint is I've gotten fatter and its not as comfortable to drive as my larger vehicles. with regular maintenance, and higher-grade fuel use these cars will run well over 350K miles.

The car is great except I would like a car with better gas mileage. It’s been a very reliable car that hasn’t had anything go wrong with it.

Perfect Car from my needs. Ran great, no issues ---81,592 miles in a 2004 ---very reliable vehicle and would purchase again. No major repairs and/or issues over the years.

This car was a great and inexpensive way to get a nice sedan that didn't brake the bank and yet still had the features I would want.

First off, I'm calling this car a reliable lemon because it turned out to be a lemon, when I bought it, but after paying for the repairs, it became a reliable car. It's a nice, boring car, in my eyes, because nothing about it excites me; I ended up getting this car because I was running out of options, car shopping, and all of the cars I've seen before this one were either outside my price range, or had problems of their own. This car was being sold by a dealer close to home, for a cheap price, which was fishy (although the odometer was reading 200,000 miles, so that played a part in the car's value), but I ended up getting it. The car is slow, but the loud Mitsubishi 4G64 under the hood said otherwise, and the suspension was soft, which I didn't really enjoy, but I know I wasn't the kind of person Kia was aiming for when they built this car. All in all, it's a nice car to have, it does everything I need it to do, which is to get me from Point A to Point B. I haven't had any serious issues with the car, after owning it for 8 months.

Excellent car for the money ,reliable, clean, mechanically sound and uses no oil. Well taken care of and good car for first time driver. CarFax certified.

I drove this car 160,000, and it has had no major problems. I imagine it will last until 300,000. Made in S. Korea. Nice drive, engine has lasted, despite Cape Cod weather (rain + salt).

This car was always reliable and it's a very comfortable ride. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for something at a reasonable price. It's nice too that it had leather interior which was extremely easy to care for due to the fact I have two children.
