Explore the 2009 Kia Borrego

I traded my Aspen for this - Best decision ever.

I traded in my 2008 Chrysler Aspen Limited on a 2009 Kia Borrego and have no regrets. The Aspen/Durango is uncomfortable, cheap, noisy, and the transmission started going out after 6 months! The Borrego is comfortable, very quiet, and powerful with the V8. The interior leather is soft, and the materials are very high quality. I may have lost some third row space, but with all the advantages of owning this over the Aspen, I am very satisfied.

Good Deal

I purchased used 09 model. Looked at Ford, Chev in the same class. They offered less interior room, especially head room. I am 6' 2'' and have ample room. Many of the creature comfort features come standard but cost extra on Ford and Chev. Very Pleased with the pep of the 6 cyl engine. Also, the third row seating is a plus with grandchildren. Overall, I am pleased with fit and finish of vehicle. Everything works well and is within easy reach. I have the optional "blueConnect" and I could not be more pleased with it. Setup was easy and the sound quality is better than listening on my cell phone. I would recommend theis Borrego with out hesitation.

Huge MISTAKE

The Borrego has mysteriously failed twice, the first time at 900 miles and 8 months later at 15,000. The radio dies first, then five days later, the car does not start until the battery is "jumped off." Also, the air conditioner has intermittently failed to cool unless the car and air are turned off and back on, apparently resetting something. The dealership has absolutely no clue what is wrong. I begged them to replace the battery both times and they have refused to try that to see if it is a cure. Instead, they are keeping the car for an indeterminate time without any strategy for diagnosis or repair. Eveyone has been cooperative and polite, but completely ineffective. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KIA!!!!!

LOVE MY BORREGO

Love the room had a sebring conv couldn't get MOM in the back seat. handles great I had Caddies and this rides better then they did. Got all the bells and whistles and still paided less then I did for them. Hope they still make them when I need a new one this will be the car I will look at first. Best thing insurance went down ,I feel safe in the car also because the way it is built has a truck frame. Made by the same company that makes Hyundai and I have one of them also just for short trips.I am driving this one more now .

Great value

I just bought the Borrego. So far, everything is fine. The only thing I think that could be improved is the ride. It is a little harsh. But it still rides better than the 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe I traded in. Pricing with rebates and dealer discounts is almost impossible to beat.

Big like a Truck, but has the comfort of a car...

I purchased this in November, it's exterior color is Black and has grey interior, seems roomy enough to hold my granddaughters, daugther, mother, sister and niece when we all go out places together without having to use three vehicles. The DVD player is wonderful for my granddaughter when taking long trips, also love the remote start for the winter months and hot summer days. I am glad I purchased this vehicle, I wish it had running boards, a sunroof and vent visors, I can't seem to locate any for it yet. But all in all I would say I made a good choice. I will let you know later if my feelings change any..

If you like chevy trailblazer this is better

Trailblazer, envoy and assender, Borrego got it plus its seven passenger with room for your legs in the third row,v8 and v6, plenty of power and style, those were nice vehicles now kia makes it, 5yr 60 thousand mile bumper to bumper warranty and more

I like this car

Good fuel economy although the engine size is big. When I drove this vehicle, it was comfortable. After testing driving, I decided to purchase this car. Of course, it's unbelievable that this vehicle is made by Kia.

Repeat Buyer

This is the second KIA we've owned. Our 2003 Sedona did OK, only one major failure in 6 years, (right after the warranty ran out of course). Our experience at the dealer was not good, but our expectations for the KIA kept us interested. Comparing price, warranty and features, the Borrego is hard to beat So far, so good. The ride is more truck like than we would have liked, but it is still good, and it is quiet! We can finally talk to adults in the back seat and not have to yell. We did not get the RES. KIA is just too proud of that one, but all the other bells and whistles are nice. The flash drive connection for the sound system works well. I didn't know about the automatic adjustment on the outside rear view mirrors (when in reverse). It really works, but I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't read the owners manual. Two things to note. The tires were WAY OVER inflated, (48# instead of the recommended 32#). I don't know who did that one, but the dealer should have checked. 2nd, the windshield wiper reservoir was almost empty. Not good signs, but I can solve those myself.
