Terrible In Winter Driving Conditions
I purchased this car towards the end of last winter, so the conditions were not there to show how badly the car handles in the snow.Despite being a six cylinder, the car handles horribly in winter conditions. Fishtailing at low speeds is the norm. Even in in a moderate incline, the vehicle can barely make it without spinning the tires. The proof is that other cars a comfortably passing by! And this is with two 60lb. sanbags in the back! I am seriously considering trading the car in and going back to something heavier and American made. To sum it up, if you live in an area with winter driving, this is NOT the car to buy.

Best Car I've ever owned
Total reliable great gas mileage. Driven in all kinds of winter weather. Starts runs and handles well. Front wheel "wells" are noisy when driving on crunchy ice/snow. Otherwise everything is great.

Good value for the money.
Bought the V6 Limited Santa Fe (FWD) is Sep. 2010. I wanted an SUV with good acceleration, plus decent gas mileage and after a little homework, the Santa Fe and the Ford Edge seem to fit the bill. I choose the Santa Fe for its price, availability, standard features (for the money), and the warranty. I use it primarily for a 5-mile commute, plus occasional weekend trips. So far, so good. The acceleration is excellent (on demand) and city MPG is around 18, hwy between 25-29. All the features in the vehicle work well and the extra cargo space of an SUV really comes in handy. I am a little disappoint in the level of refinement concerning noise suppression, ride quailty, and minor engine vibration at idle (while in Drive). They're OK, but not excellent. Currently, I have about 3,700 miles on it. We'll see how it is after about 15,000 miles. Overally, I am pleased with my purchase and I expect it to be just as reliable and the Elantra I had which was trouble free.

So far so good
This is my second Hyundai, my first, 2007 Sonata (50K miles) and now the 2011 Santa Fe. You can't beat the beat the features and reliability of these cars. The pickup is amazing, gas mileage very good for a V6 with AWD; handling is tight, great brakes and an awesome radio with Ipod connections and Bluetooth! With the 5 year 60K new vehicle warranty, you can?t go wrong. I forgot the mention the GREAT PRICE!! Highly recommend both the Sonata and Santa Fe.

BEWARE OF MISLEADING WARRANTY
CAUTION PURCHASERS: 10 YEAR WARRANTY IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS. I bought a brand new Santa Fe in 2009, have put 5500 miles on it and the upholstery is bunching up on the driver's seat. Hyundai has refused to stand behind their product. They have also made the claims process cumbersome, requiring the customer to do all of the work!!! I cannot recommend the vehicle based on the company not standing behind their warranty.

Great bang for the buck
Well let me start by saying, this is my third car, and my other two cars are BMW 328 (2010) and Infiniti G35. We wanted a SUV for lugging stuff and basic all around purpose, and we were all over the place when we were looking for a SUV (From x5 to rx350, rav4 and Highlander to Pilot and CRV). So after test driving all those cars we came down to these one's ... RX350 (Loved the comfort and luxury), highlander (great all around car), CRV (Cheap and we could treat it like harshly and not worry about it). Then one fine day out of the blue, we decided to test drive a Hyundai (well my wife was super against it ... because of the name ... she just didn't want a Hyundai!). Anyways somehow I convinced her and took her for a test drive, right when she drove the vehicle, she was like ...." okay, I can drive this, I like it" ... within next two hours we owned the vehicle. It had everything we wanted (Minus the navigation). Basically we got everything we wanted in 10k less then the closest vehicle (which was highlander with the same options).By the way we bought the SE version. Now to the drive, its awesome!, specially for people who want smooth Lexus kinda drive (don't get me wrong, its no Lexus, but its THAT type of smooth drive). Mileage, its okay, we get avg 20 Mpg, and drive 50/50 highway and city, so I'd say we can't ask for more from a V6. Inside: For the price, we couldn't have asked for more, the blue tooth is not as good as the BMW but DEFINITELY better then the Infiniti. Seats are nice and comfortable, sound system is decent. The wireless mp3 play feature is AMAZING!!! we play stuff off our Iphone's and absolutely love it! Storage: This was the no.1 reason for us buying this car, once you fold the seats down, it has more space then any car we test drove (others don't fold as flat), the only other car that had more space in this category was Rav4 (i know tough to believe, but its seats fold completely flat and if you need to fill it up with boxes even highlander can't load as much stuff). The wow factor: From 0 to 10, with 10 being the best, I'd say 4, none of your friends is gonna tell you this looks "awesome!", but like us every time you drive this car, you will think in your head, I'm glad I bought this car! All in all, not a amazing SUV to own, but a Great one to buy. It gives you maximum bang for your buck.

L O V E IT!
I just bought my Santa Fe a few months ago and I LOVE it! I bought it because it has so much storage and my husband loved the power outlet so that he can use his laptop on road trips. I was also sold on the dual climate control and Bluetooth! Great features for a really good price. I am quite pleased.

Just purchased
Like the room - comfortable seating, SUV driving for a petite person - like the solidness of this vehicle. Feel that this car when driving to Boston, MA in it's best day - can be a litter scary! Love the CAR

Brand New-So Far I'm Disappointed
I bought a new Santa Fe GLS with the 4 cylinder 6 speed automatic tranny on New Years Eve, and so far I'm a little disappointed. I traded an '09 Sonata GLS that we just loved and wish I'd held onto, but the cloth seats weren't tough enough to endure years of wear and I wanted REAL wheels instead of the wheel covers. In the Santa Fe there's no dome light that comes on in the dark when you open it. The same for the back when you load something like groceries at night, although there IS a light back there. There's also no light around the ignition switch, so have fun trying to find that in the dark without scraping the dash too many times. The bluetoooth is much more of a hassle too 'cause you have to take time to connect to it every stinkin' time you enter the car. We wanted a 2010 model but the sales guy told us that most 2010 models weren't available anymore, so he sold us this machine. I liked the tail light design on the '10 model much better. He also sold us the SUV without a single option on it. I demanded the carpeted floor mats and cargo net, which we got, but not without throwing a small fit for it. Overall, the ride is good and this engine is smooth-so far. The cloth seats are a tougher fabric from the '09 Sonata and the 17" alloy wheels are an eye catcher without being over the top. Only put a few hundred miles on it so far, so I'll update again in a couple of thousand miles...

OK but nothing special
Have had the car for 6 months. In general, experience has been OK. Transmission slams into gear with a loud thump when cold. ABS audibly grinds at 18 MPH EVERY start. Dealer mechanics couldn't figure it out; independent mechanic spotted problem in 5' (poorly designed soundproofing). AWD terrific in snow. Mileage on highway very good; fair around town. Time will tell whether car will be a keeper but I'm skeptical. Too bad; I like many things about it. If you buy one, find an independent mechanic you trust. Hyundai mechanics are absolutely clueless.
