2017 Hyundai elantra se
Review about 2017 Hyundai elantra se.. The car would be a great first car for someone. It has basic features for a car. Auto windows, manual seats. Nothing too fancy by all means. Mine is a phantom black with a little sparkle on the exterior and a light gray on the interior. It does have xm radio but that's the only feature that isn't basic. I have only had this car for a little over a year and my Crank-shaft sensor is already going out so it's running really rough and it dies at random times.

Good car
I purchased my vehicle new in the summer of 2017. It now has 75k miles on it. It has been very reliable. It still gets great gas mileage (40+) on the highway. Around town is good, too. My wife currently has a 2020 Camry rental. I think the Elantra has a better ride and is more comfortable. I would buy the vehicle again.

Go to recalls and, see if any recalls to you car.
I am a answer searcher. I found some answers for the passenger driver side door. I called VSH and, filed a complaint against them. I had told them that my daughter had a baby and, what if she is in a accident. On the passenger side. How is she going to get my grandson out? They have given me some advice to do. I have to call the company, if that don't work to call Fed Trade Commission. I am going to call them tomorrow. This is really a safety issue, and hazard.

Buyer beware
Paint on the roof is coming off in big pieces it's burning oil like it's a 20 year old car I've had it in for two recalls so far and now my mechanic can't figure out what's wrong with it because it just turns itself off very disappointed in this car.

OK car overall but questionable quality
Got it used with 9k miles at the end of 2017 . It now only has 20000 miles so I have not used it much. So far it has been reliable but with a few concerns/issues Mine is a 2017 Elantra Limited Black/Beige with a 2.0 engine. 1) it has engine knock under load and this concerns me for many reasons. But the main reason is that the quality of the engine built is now questionable for me. This happens rarely but noticeable enough to change my driving habit to not put much load on the engine. This adds frustration to what is an already sluggish engine. 2) right mirror stopped working 3) right front door latch broke causing the door not to open occasionally 4) driver seat frame became loose. Possible broken rivets. Seat bottom would move slightly but enough to freak me out in turns. 5) door interior arm rest plastic paint is chipping away looking ugly. The above may not be a big deal but I really question the quality especially after issues with Hyundai has had with engines in the past. At this point I am planning to just drive till it dies but have my doubts it l will last like a Honda or Toyota. BTW: The engine oil change frequency is much more frequent than for a similar car in the compact segment. So you should consider that as well since it is added maintenance cost.

Not bad for the money
The car is serving its purpose very well. I don't think I could have done better. And it drives well for it to be what it is.
