Most problematic car Ever, but fabulous warranty,.

This car has needed the most work of any service ve ever owned; thankfully it had an xcellent warranty...it was totally necessary to use it several times. The AC is great at lowering the temperature to the front; It's very miserable for passengers in the back. The steering wheel adjusts so minimally that it's almost worthless. I had the tranny replaced within 10,000 miles, engine gasket was defective so the engine was rebuilt after 75,000 mi. The lights clouded up within two years, had to have them refinished and the light bulbs replaced as well. CD player has never worked very well but I plug my tablet in to the AUX. and the speakers make it sound great! XM radio is nice to have. Battery lasted one year, replaced that. There is a lumbar adj. in the seat but it did not correct the 'bent back' effect the seat gives the driver. I bought a special cushion, that solved most of the problem with the seat, the seats are a bit better than Toyota.

best car I have ever owned

The car is comfortable the seats and steering a very compatible which makes the car easy to drive. The outside of the car is very modern and I felt confident driving it anywhere . My expectations for the car in person were much lower than I anticipated

Perfect for a 1st car

Perfect for a first car for people of all ages. Bought a 2010 Elantra when I was 17, and it's held up for 4 years now and it still working as good as I bought it.

Really good commute car

It is a great car except that Hyundai needs to improve the transmission on it. That is the only thing keeping the performance from 5 stars.

Good first car.

I think this vehicle is a great choice for a first time driver. It is small, and is reliable over all. Also, it is great on gas and is not too high maintenance.

A full service vehicle

I owned & drove an Elantra 2010 for 7 + years and it served me n my family so well. I got a full handiness amount when I sold it after 7 years .... I would recommend Elantra to all American families

6 years old and already needs a new transmission

We were looking for a solid, reliable little car with good gas mileage, and our friends had nothing but good things to say about Hyundais. So we bought this car brand-new from the dealer six years ago, have given it regular oil changes and semi-regular maintenance (it's our only car, so we can't just leave it overnight). From the first six months or so it began to have "hiccups" between 25 and 35 mph (points where we'd hit the gas and the car would act like it was in neutral). When we took it into the dealership where we'd bought it, the mechanics found nothing wrong with it. Recently, as the hiccups got worse, we took it in again. At this point they told us our six-year-old car would need a brand new transmission (the priciest fix on any car; it would be cheaper for us to buy a beater and drive that instead). Needless to say, we'll never buy a Hyundai again.

Totally Reliable Car

On November 24, 2015, I purchased my second Hyuandai Elantra as the first one I had for 16 years and totally loved it. Other than general maintenance, i.e. tires, brakes, tune ups, that car was totally reliable. Hence, the reason for my second Hyuandai Elantra. . . a car you can depend on.
