Great car, great gas mileage.

This car is great. Gets excellent gas mileage, one of the safest cars on the road, and it's inexpensive.

Alright car.

I bought it brand new off of the lot. Nice little car, in good weather. Snow/winter driving is horrible, even with really good winter tires. My car seems to eat tires, the first set of tires lasted less than 20,000 miles. Drives great, shifts great, never had a problem with the clutch. Great gas milage, average 30-32 driving around town, better on trips. It's an ok car, probably won't buy another one.

Not a Quality Car

Would take it in for warranty repairs, repairs would not hold up any longer than 6 months. Paint job is poor poor poor, paint started to pickle along the bumper. Wheel paint wears off. Paint started to bubble after a hail storm. Took it in to fix the alarm kept going off. Repair didn't last long. Service solution was to lock the door manually so the alarm wouldn't go off at random. After the last Hyndai repair there was a rattle that did not go away. Glad to trade it in

Not the quality I thought

Alarm went off at random took it back to the dealership. Fix was temporary, started going off again was told to not use the key fob and manually lock the door by service parts came off the car, took it back for repair, two months later, same part came off. Paint on bumper started Pickeling. One hail storm, the paint bubbled and peeled back. The paint on hub caps chipped off. last time I took it back for dealer service, it was returned with a loud rattle. In all what good is a warranty when you have to keep taking it back to get fixed. Gas mileage 20 to 22 in town 28 to 30 on highway

Impressed

I bought this car a few months ago with 150*** on the odo. I haven't had one complaint. I get compliments on the exterior and the MPG are great. I was most surprised by the pep that the little inline 4 has. Fun to drive, reliable, and great on gas, what else do you need?

Worst Mistake Ever

Bought this car used, because of glowing reviews I found Online. I overpaid for this piece of plastic to begin with, and it's been downhill since. The tires rotted in less than 20,000 miles. I'm on my 3rd gas cap. This time the Check Engine Light is for a transaxle problem. The car is now worth (KBB) under $5000, and I'm facing $1600-2000 for a new automatic transmission. From all the complaints I have NOW found and read Online, there is no warranty from Hyundai (23,000 miles on the car) to help with the cost. I wish I had stuck with Toyota. My brother is still driving my 1987 Corolla.

comfortable car

The windshield appears to be somewhat frosted. I did not notice it during the testdrive, but it is impossible to get it clean.

So Happy, We Own Two

My wife bought a new Elantra in Spring '05. She was so happy with it (and I was so impressed after driving it) that I bought one that fall. It is now Feb '10 - we are still driving the same cars, and we still love them. We get regular maintenance, and neither of us have had any mechanical problems whatsoever. I travel a lot for work so I drive rental cars quite often. I always get compact cars (comparable to the Elantra), and even the NEW models of the Cobalt, Sentra, etc. don't compare with the driving experience of my '05 Elantra.

Great first car

this was my first car and I really enjoyed it. The only thing is that it is too small for me personally, but it is a great car. GREAT MPG! Interior doesn't take long to wear away though.
