Comfy, roomy, economical car

Great handling, great economy, very comfortable and a great price for the amount of car you get. Very tight turning circle.

eh

it looks too much like a Prius in my opinion They were trying to make a knockoff Prius, like the cheap knockoff bags and designer products, cheap and lookalikes,

Inexpensive and it shows

Overall good car, but lacks any upgrades that make it more fun to drive. How about leather, heated seats, moonroof, and power driver's seat? All things I had installed aftermarket, but not quite the same as manufactured-installed. Still a better deal than other hatchback hybrids.

2011 Honda Insight

I recently bought a 2011 Honda Insight and I am exceptionally pleased with it. I spent a lot of time studying hybrids before I purchased and, in the end, it was a "value" decision. I purchased a 2011 Insight, fully loaded, with navigation system for $21,999, new. A Toyota Prius with comparable features is almost $10,000 dollars more. When I reviewed the mileage data for Insights and Prius' input by owners at fuelly.com, it appears that in real-world driving there is only about a 2 mpg difference between the two cars, overall. I am currently recording +50 mpg for my commute. In short, I am incredibly happy with this car and would recommend it to others.

Great car so far

Have only had the car about 4 months, not quite 5,000 miles yet. Was told by salespeople to not expect optimum fuel economy till after 5k. So far, city 39 mpg, highway 44-46. No complaints. Have taken on trips of 150-175 miles and been satisfied with comfort. Only complaint is getting into it; am over 70 years old with a cranky hip and it's a bit tricky. We love the infrequent trips to the gas pump and the short stays when there. With only limited expeience with it so far would still highly recommend it to someone who wants a fun little car.

Horrible ride

The good: 43+ MPG USB port in console for Iphone/Ipod/MP3 directly to radio. Sharp looking Great bright lights Oil change interval dictated electronically by oil particle sensor. 5500, and still at 60%! Large cargo space The Bad: The ride is terrible. Very uncomfortable for more than a 20 minute commute on highway. The car feels every rib in the pavement. This is translated into the seat back smacking your back repeatedly. You can forget resting you head on the headrest! I purchased the car to use on my 60 mile daily commute to and from work. I can't stand to drive it! My wife now drives it, and I drive our Sebring Convertible to work and back. So much for the great savings in fuel cost we used to justify purchasing the vehicle. The car also suffers off the line acceleration. It stutters, mostly with the A/C on. I think Honda needs to reprogram the electric assist to fully engage when taking off from a stop with the A/C on. As mentioned elsewhere, the car will shutdown, with Econo on or off, when the vehicle slows below 4 MPH. There are certain situations when the motor will restart, but there needs to be a switch where YOU can decide to keep it running for A/C or heating purposes.

Forgives bad driving habits

2011 Insight EX was purchased for 150 mile daily commute. For a 6'2" male driver, the leg room and seat comfort is surprising. I have over 4k miles on it in 2 months and get an average of 44 miles per gallon based on gas fill and mileage, not the computer. When driving slow and sensible, have gotten 50.5 miles per gallon. When the foot gets heavy (75-80 mph) and hard accels, still 42 mpg. Makes me smile. Some have reported steering issues. Steering response gets soggy on very windy days, but not unmanageable by any means. EX with the paddle shifters and CVT in manual mode make it a delight to drive on twisty roads and does help acceleration. At $5k less for a comparable Prius, and prettier, it's a deal at any trim level.

Amazing 53.6 MPG so far

Amazig blue beauty. dont let the window sticker fool you into believing it gets 40/43 because we have 7000 miles in the books and so far first 5000 miles at 52.2 and now last 2000 miles it just gets better at 56.9. Have to keep ECON on and A/C turns off at lights automatically. Without econ i get around 43-45

Economical/Practical Car

My commute to work is needless to say, very far. I'm a persistent Honda buyer not because I can't afford a luxury vehicle or Prius but because the cars I've bought from Honda have lasted me a long time with no problems. I average around 46 mpg's on this car and so far I like the ride. I have a sports car already but was looking forward for this car to drive to work. Oh, for those people who say that the insight looks like the Prius, I beg to differ. I think it's body style resembles the original Insight or the CR-X.
