My first Honda

Switched to this from a Jeep Liberty. Much roomier for my family of five. No frills, not as much power as I was used to. Haven't yet driven it in the winter so can't say what kind of handling I'll experience. Generally satisifed with my purchase. Have owned it for five months.

Best of the best

Suv style with excellent gas mileage!! My previous vehicle was a jeep Cherokee and I loved the suv part of it but hated the fillin the tank part. I love my crv it avg 26.7 currently and there are about 5000 miles on it! I've had it for 4 months and I love it! It could be more comfortable but it's do-able.

2011 Honda CR-V EX-L

I bought this as it was the highest rated CR-V EX-L by Consumers Report. I quickly became disppointed in a number of things with this car. It came "allegedly" as fully equiped for this model, ie: remote power locks and power windows, power sun roof, leather, power drivers seat, Navigation with satellite radio/mp3, etc. It does not come nor can you get a power passenger seat. The passenger leather seat is very uncomfortable and different than the driver seat. I was advised one cannot do anything with the passenger seat as it contains all the electronics for the side air bags, etc. and therefore power cannot be added. The frame itself is almost undistructable as it is hardened steel. I added a tow bar to be towed by a motorhome and drilling the holes in the frame for the tow plate bolts was almost impossible. I was very impressed with that construction. A lot of plastic in most everything in and out. Other "options" available are just that options. You cannot order it but is dealer supplied only. If you take options in consideration, you could buy a competitors vehicle with options already included for less. I added the "fog lights" as a dealer option as it is necessary where we live. It also comes with "cheap" tires that will not last long due to tread wear per tire specs. It has an annoying road noise and without the radio playing, it would be problematic. I drive conservatively and find the mileage rating not what is claimed to be either. The reliabilty factor has yet to be determined as only 8,000 miles driven in 6 months owning same....

An excellent value for such a SUV

We own two Mercedes so far, but German cars after driving it for a while you get a LOT of problems, recalls, and so on, and the maintenance bill can pile up. We decided to try out Honda based on its reliability reputation, and so far we are not disappointed. With around only US$21K (plus tax), you get a really reliable car with excellent resale value. What more can you ask for??

Very reliable small SUV

Car is very reliable and a good value. I have had other small SUV's and what I don't care for is the transmissssion shift points when the air conditioning is on. Between 37 and 40 miles per hour you hit a really slow point in power and when you accaelerate it down shifts and roars up to 3700RPM, needs a little tweaking. The other annoying thing, the intermittent wipter is just one set point not variable, strange for this electronic age, maybe needs updating.

Great experience so far!

I am very pleased with my 2011 CRV. Never owning an SUV previously, I was very pleased by the transition from a car. The only downside was that I am used to a 6 cylinder and this is a 4 cylinder with much less pick up when pulling out. It has power after the initial time it takes to speed up though. Honda does have a price for every little option you want added. Even the fog lights don't come installed and are very expensive to add-on. Overall, I am pleased with our purchase.

Duck when entering

I've had my CR-V for 6 months now and overall I like it. As some others have noted, it is a bit underpowered, especially when entering a free way for merging into traffic. However, I love the gas mileage as it is a 30% improvement over my Escape. My biggest 'complaint' is that I find it hard to get in and out of the vehicle. With the steeply raked windshield, I have to bend my head significantly (and I'm only 5'10" - no giant) or I bang my head. Only car I've ever had this problem with.

Reliable in Any Kind of Weather

The CR-V has a reputation of holding value and quality of performance. I've been most impressed, however, with how well in handles in extreme conditions, such as blizzards and heavy rain. It handles extraordinarily and rides very smoothly. I've never driven a Honda on a regular basis but I can attest to the quality and value.
