great little car
Owned for 1 year, 16,000 miles; only problem is gas fumes coming in through fresh air vents - design flaw I guess.

once in awhile you get a lemon
I've owned my 06 civic LX coupe for 14 months. PROS: exterior and interior design CONS: mileage, only getting 25 miles per gallon on 50/50 mixed driving city/hwy. I specifically bought this car because of the advertised gas mileage of 30/40. I would of never traded in my 94 accord lx for 25mpg civic. the accord got 24mpg mixed driving. (Can live with this). very annoying rattle in the suspension system, like one of the nuts weren't tightened correctly. the dealer will not take the time to find the problem, just replace the struts and send me home. I'll just sue HONDA when my wheel falls off. (Can't accept this in any car at any price). a "boying" heard from the front spring under hard breaking. (Can't accept this). the struts squeaking, already replaced once. (Can't accept this). interior trim vibrating noise. (Can live with it). easily scratched plastic interior trim. I'm assuming while the dealer was installing the window tint, it was scratched. (Can live with it). My knee hits the parking brake lever. It's very annoying on long drives when I use cruise control and reposition my leg. (Can live with it). I would be so satisfied if these problems didn't exist.

My high gas price equalizer
Driven properly you WILL get the advertised mileage on the '06 HCH. My first tank of gas (on a new, tight engine), gave me 51.2mpg. Drive it like there is an uncooked egg between your foot and the gas pedal. The HCH will teach you how to get excellent mileage, if you allow it to. My '06 HCH is of uncompromising quality. I have had it back to the dealer once in 8K miles..........for an oil change. I have found zero defects in this car, and I am impressed. The day an American manufacturer builds a hybrid of this quality, for this price.....I'll own one!

Super style rocket
The appearance of the Civic coupe and the feel behind the wheel seems to be of a mini-rocket. Style, good performance and over 40mpg on the highway at at least the maximum speed limit make it a very satisfying car to own.

My first Honda.
I am the proud owner of a '06 Civic SI. This is one incredible package, power, handling, and outstanding style. Considering Honda's reputation I expected a lot and recieved far more.

First Car
This is my first car, and it gets great gas mileage, I average around 31-32 MPG, on country roads. Has great handling, and the styling is futuristic and will remain current looking for years to come.

Very impressed by this, my first Honda
Having owned Ford, Mercury, Plymouth, AMC, VW, Chevy, Dodge, Jeep, GMC, Alfa Romeo, and Toyota vehicles over my 25+ years of driving, I'm very impressed with my first Honda, the 2006 Civic Hybrid (or "HCH"). Surprisingly, the 2006 HCH gives me the advertised fuel economy - in a roughly 30/70 mix of city/highway driving, I've gotten right at 50mpg average from Apr through Oct. In contrast, a buddy at work has a 2005 Prius, drives about the same city/hwy mix, and has been getting around 42mpg - not at all what's advertised. I expect that the cold seasons will bring me lower mileage, and my last couple of tanks seem to portend exactly that with 47-48mpg averages. I tend to watch the HCH's elapsed and instantaneous MPG indicators, and have adjusted my driving accordingly. If I drove this car as I've driven cars in the past, I might be seeing 6-8mpg less. But, these tools are part of what the hybrid system offers, and I wonder how much fuel we could all save every year if every car clued its drivers in on how much gas is being sucked down at any given moment. Problems so far are few and minor: corner dashboard trim not staying properly secured; a piece of underbody trim not installed properly; driver's side window not staying in its channel when rolling up (the part is on order). Everything else has been great - not perfect, but in general a level of design and assembly the same as, or a better than, any other car I've owned. My only real design gripe: the telescoping steering wheel does not extend outward far enough for drivers with long legs (I'm 6'1") to be comfortable. Otherwise, I find the seating extremely comfortable with great headroom. Oh, one more gripe: the horn is ridiculously wimpy. Accelleration is fine for an economy car; handling is excellent. Road noise is significant on some surfaces, due to the low-rolling-resistance tires. Aftermarket tires could reduce noise at the expense of some fuel economy. Systems are well-designed; navigation, voice-recognition, automatic climate-control all work well. Audio system is good, and besides AM/FM/CD it plays MP3s from an ordinary PC card. Downside: the XM satellite radio add-on is punitively expensive. I'm out of space for this review - search the web for differences between Honda's and Toyota's hybrid systems. Very different approaches. I highly recommend the HCH.

A reliable car
The car's exterior design, safety features, estimated mileage, power, and brand of Honda enticed me to buy this car. Likes: 1. Good exterior looks 2. Ample safety features 3. MP3 player plug-in Dislikes: 1. Driver seat not so comfortable or supportive 2. Knee touches the parking brake lever 3. Jerky automatic gear shift /engagement 3. Fuel economy: 29.5 mpg on 70% HWY driving 4. Tons of blind spots 5. Expensive can get midsize car for same price 6. Insufficient power and torque 7. Inadequate AC and vents, gets very hot inside

The little things...
The car is excellent in it's fuel economy and over all quality. The major annoyance is interior quality - rattles abound in this car, the moon roof when closed makes constant noise whenever the car shifts, and comparing it with my friend's '04 Civic, I notice the parts are just not installed as well, everything has a cheaper, looser feel; while his Civic is much more solid.
