I'm driving in style

Overall I like the style and handling of my new Ford Fusion. I did settle for the 2.5 rather than a 2.0 with the eco boost. Coming from a v6 it is a little sluggish trying to get onto the highways. So, I'm looking at it as what I gave up in power I'm getting in better gas mileage!

Regret

The negative reviews on this car by actual owners should not be ignored. I know the "professionals" all seemed to write glowing reviews of the car, but the real world experience has been quite the opposite. I've owned the car about 3 weeks. Here's a list of issues so far: 1) Some type of clicking sound in cold weather from the engine area. 2) Wind noise at certain speeds. 3) Stereo goes in and out constantly, leaving the stereo to sound mono at times. Even when in stereo, it's bright and harsh. 4) CD has ejected on its own. 5) Static when MFT is about to "speak". 5) The buttons are a total pain to use. For example, it takes an incredible amount of effort to move heat off 82 degrees to 75. Since only about half of the clicks are recognized, you may literally have to hit the "-" button about 15 times to do this. 6) MFT Sync System stopped taking voice commands, so it had to be totally reset... which of course lost all my settings. To be honest, I used a relatives new Camry SE for about 2 weeks before I bought this car. The Camry had no creaks, no rattles, no wind noises, no odd radio behaviors, no quality issues whatsoever. The car just works. In some ways, I feel dumb for not just buying a Camry. The Fusion is quieter, roomier, and arguably more comfortable and better looking than the new Camry's... but I can't get past all the quality issues. Ford should be ashamed of their QC. And, based on past experience, getting one of their dealers to actually fix something will be an incredible challenge.

TOOK ME 29 DAYS TO GET A COPY OF CONTRACT.

The Ford Dealer in Owensboro, Ky did not give me a copy of the contract that I signed and it took me 29 days to get a copy of it. Will never recommend them to anyone.

2013 Ford Fusion 1.6L

Bought the SE new in November. Generally an OK car. My problems - (1) MPG. Getting 30 on highway. On long trip did manage 32. Not what the marketers tell you it should get (36). I know all ford dealers say it's only an estimate but having owned a new civic, grand prix, bonneville, gmc pick-up and RX330 all of which got what they claimed to get, the "only an estimate" doesn't hold water. Maybe it's a ford thing though. (2) Rattle in the ceiling. Parts are on order, have been for 3 weeks, no estimate of when they will be in. (3) Rattle in door - dealer fixed it. (4) Oil reset. Couldn't get it to reset. Dealer couldn't also. I guess they finally did. (4) This is a little confusing in writing. Here goes - Reset trip MPG data at fillup to 0 (i.e. no miles, no gas used). At same time reset general fuel economy date to 0 (i.e. no miles driven and no gas used). After driving 200 miles and at next refill, checked the MPG reading on trip option and the mpg on general fuel economy option. they were different. Recomendation - great looking but looks can be deceiving. I would wait a couple of years until bugs are worked out. And stay away from the 1.6L ecoboost. On a side note, have you seen the commercial showing the fusion flying off a cliff? Well, it's tempting.

Be wary and do your research

I purchased my 2013 Ford Fusion SE in October 2012. I had the vehicle back at the dealership nine times in three months. The problems were all four door panels rattling (fixed twice), headliner came down twice, the A and B pillars came apart twice, there was an intermittent grinding noise coming from the engine while it was off (Ford never could figure this one out), various rattles, inaccurate fuel gauge (reset three times), misaligned trunk lid at delivery, various scratches and gouges at delivery and many other issues. After dealing with Ford and having payments reimbursed it was decided this vehicle was not working for me. Ford refused to buy back the vehicle and kept assuring me they would get to the bottom of the issues with the vehicle. After talking it over with the dealership, they decided they would buy the car back. They put me into a 2013 Mustang and I couldn't be happier. I understand that there is always going to be lemons but I have heard they are having these problems with a lot of the Fusion vehicles. Be warned

So far so good

I ordered the Fusion Titanium almost 3 months ago and got it about one month ago. I'm very pleased with everything except for the MPG. Hope it will improve. The interior is beautiful, the safety features are best in class, the exterior looks great, and it's a very good ride. I don't know why the car magazines complain about the MyFordTouch. I read the manual several times and learned everything I needed to in the first 2 weeks. It's easy to use, especially coupled with SYNC. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a geat car with great safety and driver features.

Best Car Ever Driven

I absolutly love my new Fusion. It looks beautiful. It has great tech: keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure watch, rain sensitive wipers, auto bright lights, and MyTouch (sync). Adaptive Cruise control is great. I can finally use cruise control during rush hour. Performance is great for around town. It is more than enough for my needs. MyTouch (Sync) and other features took a couple of weeks to master, Byt I am happy with them now.

Top Knotch

We've only owned our fusion a little over a week but we love it. The comfort is wonderful and performance is supreme. Our saleman was very good at explaining the operation to us. Looking forward to a longer trip.

The most quiet car

I have driven many cars in my life time (I am 65) and this is one of the most quiet cars I have driven. This is perfect for normal conversation in the car. It is great that I do not arrive exhausted after having shouted the entire six hour trip. I commented to my wife that it was like I wasn't even driving. On my first trip I got 35 mpg. I put it on cruise control.

Love my Fusion

I bought my Fusion 2013 brand new. It has very good gas mileage, and good speed in the highway. I feel like I am in a real sports car. I am still learning to use my Sync devises, and is pretty nice to know I can connect it with my IPhone, I'm even able to listen to music from YouTube. I love my black Fusion and recommend it to everybody.
