Made a fan out of me

I wasn't originally considering a Focus. My daughter drives an '05, and it's buzzy, loud and not all that great on gas. I rented various Foci of the next generation, though, and they won me over. I purchased a '10 in January 2010, and 33,000 miles later, I'm a fan. The '08-'11's are quieter at idle and speed, ride more smoothly and, in my experience at least, get better gas mileage than the sticker. The car is adequately powered. The automatic transmission has just four speeds, but it finds the right gear easily and returns great gas mileage. It's easy to park. The rear seats are easy to fold down. I use this feature a lot to haul my bike around. The stock Hankook tires were awful, but things are harmonious since replacing them with some Michelin Harmonys. Reliability has been excellent. Just one issue in three years...a small squeak in the rear suspension fixed under warranty. Sync has its hiccups...it's a Microsoft product, after all, but like Windows, a shut down and reboot usually fixes things.

2010 Ford Focus SE 4spd auto

Bought car new with 6 miles on odometer. Car is just shy of 70,000 miles after today's work commute. Car has been reliable and averages 30-33 hand/calculator figured mpg. Average on vehicle display is always optimistically higher. My driving is 99% highway commute. Cold weather; headwinds and increased speed contribute to the 30 mpg avg. No significant problems to date.(knock on wood) Oil/filter changes every 4000 mi. Transmission fluid/filter at 60,000 mi. I like the "Sync" for hands free talking and satellite radio option. Car rides smooth and pretty quite as far as road noise goes.

Very Nice

FORD FOCUS SES: Good on MPG, averaging approx 26.5 (based on on-board comp.calculation), has a little perky side when you touch the gas pedal - but could use a bit more forward speed when accelerating from a standstill. Could use better braking system too as I do need to put my foot down pretty hard to get it to come to a complete stop or it will continue at a slow pace (braking system says OK, and so does the diagnostics at dealership, possibly new brake pads needed?). Engine performance is pretty decent for a 140 HP. Easy to turn, holds it place (doesn't swing on quick turns) and a just nice overall small sport-type car. Has typical Ford shaking which I expected (nothing wrong with engine/rpm). Interior is O.K - could use better material than the plastic on the dashboard, door lining and also the painting on the steering wheel buttons should have been made from black plastic and not painted over because the paint on my wheel is chipping away slowly. Otherwise, I love the color option ambient lighting and interior light blue lights. The headlight dimmer on my rear-view mirror is wonderful - blocks out bright headlights from cars behind me and makes driving easier. Stereo system is excellent, MFS (my ford sync) is fun to play with and I can call anyone from a touch of a button without using my phone, Sirius satellite is also nice, and I also can keep up to date on the latest news and traffic alerts in an instant! Overall I am a happy FORD owner and I will definitely be buying another one soon!

Love My Ford

I love my little car. Nice leather seats, great mileage. Handles well. I only have one thing I did not like about this car. The Tires Are Terrible. Once I put new tires on my car, the car handled much better. I really feel that for a new car I should not have to purchase 800 dollars in new tires. The first year, it was terrible in the snow because of the tires. This year it is great. The trunk it roomy and has split seats. I have a moon roof and all the extra's. LOVE IT. I would recommend this car to anyone. Not made for a family. It is roomy but I don't know if you would want kids in the back. The car is very comfortable. I take long trips to SC and I do not have any trouble with my back. (sitting for a long period of time)

A Great Car:

In Jan of 2010 I bought my first american new car. It was a 2010 Ford Focus it is a great car good on gas and it gets me to where I want to go to. I have had no problems with it and I see why Ford was the first american automaker to emerge from the auto slump of 2008-2009.

More than what I thought

The focus is more than what I thought. I went from a van and larger sedans to a small car and didn't really know if I would like it. I have been driving it for 2 months now and I love it!! Great gas mileage and handles very well. I don't feel like I am in a small car, and I will definitley get another one after this one

Best car to date that I've owned

I have never been a fan of small cars. I traded in a Dodge Durango for my Ford Focus. It wasn't love at first sight, but I love it now. It's great on gas, easy to handle, and has a sporty look. I'll never buy big again. A real value!!

great car!

i have owed this car for about a year now. I drive twice the recommended miles a year and this car has proved to be extremely great. Only thing I would like to see is an improved engine with more horsepower (which I heard will be in the 2013 focus.)

Get a 2010/2011 Focus, It's a great car.

My 91 Taurus was on it's last leg at 230,000 miles in January 2010, so I needed a new car. Because of my location, I wanted good gas mileage, and it is primarily used to go to work. Saw this 2010 Ford Focus Sangria Red SE Coupe and just had to test it. Well to shorten this review up, I will just tell you about what it can do. It has a small 2.0L engine. In the winter averages 32 mpg. After the first oil change it improves gas mileage. A little light for snow covered roads, but handles just fine as a front wheel drive car. It also helps that I have lived in Northern Illinois all my life. When you need to jump on the interstate and kick it up a notch, it responds quite well. It actual surprised me how quick it is. I drive 30 miles to work and then 30 miles back on half interstate/ half blacktop backroad and I am averaging 36 mpg combined. I drive 56 mph on anything non highway/interstate, but 5 over the posted speed limit on highway/interstate. Now the styling is pretty good. I have a spoiler on the back with a black racing stripe on the trunk, spoiler, and hood due to the fact I want my car to look different from all the focus's out there. There are a lot. I do not care for that indent at the bottom of the trunk lid on the back. It collects water, and will probably be one of the first spots rust will show up. Fog lights are a nice thing to have. The wipers are not the best, but also not the worst I have seen. As for the interior, I occasionally have people in the back seat, and the design of the front seats are designed in such a way that you have to use a lot of strength to slided the seat, especially on the right side, forwards to let people back there. Also, it is a nice thing to have the back seats able to fold down to haul bigger things such as big flat screen televisions. The Ford Sync is amazing for I do use those voice commands, but have still not used my bluetooth phone to talk throught the car speakers, but my Dad does. I use it for music. I'll hit the button on the steering wheel to talk, and say USB, and then the system in the car will scan the device through the USB port located in front of the shifter, and then you go from there. Here's a tip, you can use a $20 flash drive and get the music from your computer and have hundreds of songs, or you can spend all that extra money you could have saved on an IPOD. Another thing, if you don't annunciate, you may find yourself cussing out your automobile. Definetly get the cruise control. If this tells you anything, my father went and bought a 2011 Ford Focus SES because he occassionally was allowed to drive mine, and loved the gas mileage. He also went with 4 doors. The coupes doors are longer, and you are able to see better when getting on the interstate than in the 4 door. He also has bigger tires, and I haven't noticed much of a difference in ride quality. And to top it off, an older gentleman and his wife I used to work with bought a 2011 Ford Focus SEL after test driving it, and knowing how much I enjoyed driving mine. So there you have it, I could go on and on, but I will stop. And there you go Ford, three focus sold, so you must be doing something right. I hope this review was helpful and good luck on either finding a vehicle or driving a Focus.
