You don't get what you pay for it; you get less!!!

I bought this car brand new in December 2006. I had all oil changes and multi point inspections done at the Ford Dealership where I live and I am very disappointed in the quality of this car and the quality of the service that Ford provides. I have a squeaking sound that comes from the interior backseats. I had the dealership look at it 3 times and they could not fix it. The squeak started shortly after I purchased the vehicle. Brakes started to give me problems after 15 month and 12,000 miles. I made 3-4 trips to the dealership and was always told that they brushed the brake pads and the brake disc. This would help for about 1 day and the problem would squeaking would start again. Of course after the warranty was up, Ford told me that the squeak came from a defective part and because the car was no longer under the break warranty after 18,000 miles, they could not replace it and asked me to pay for the brake job. I talked to Ford customer service and they said that they could not help me even though I had a history of brake problems. What I really don't understand is that I paid about $50 for every oil change + multi point inspection and the inspection covers brakes. Any defect of the brakes should have been caught the 4 or 5 times I have paid for the inspection. I have less than 25K miles on it and the car is not even 3 years old. I don't expect to buy another Ford or American product anytime soon. I will buy Japanese or German cars going forward. The interior panel on the passenger side started to fall apart and doors make a rattling sound sometimes. Almost feels like something is loose. There are just too many issues to list. While most of these problems seem to be minor, it is very annoying to hear the squeaking and rattling sounds every day. I forgot to mention that the steering wheel also makes a sound but Ford said that I may have to pay for the mechanic to look at it if they cannot find anything wrong with it. I decided not to pay the estimated $200 as I figured that they would not cover it or tell me even if they did find something minimal. I am not going to tell you to avoid this car but I certainly will not buy another Ford for a long time.

Worst Car I've Ever Owned

I bought the car one year ago and ever since I have had it in the shop 8 times to be fixed. The seal on the door would just stop well...sealing. Seat belts will stop working and yesterday the cd player just stopped taking cds. Ya it comes with a warranty but in three years when the warranty is up and the car keeps falling to pieces what do I do?

Great Car!

I am 6'4" and just under 300 lbs, and I drive this car every day and I find it comfortable. I leased this car new in 2007 after turning in my full size Dodge Ram, and although I was skeptical at first, I really like it. It handles great, even in the snow. The gas mileage is amazing. I would rather drive this car than my wife's Expedition. I drive it to work every day, and have even taken it on very long road trips. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the cup holders are in a bad spot and there is no outlet plug for my IPod. Both of which were changed in the new 08 model. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a nice driving car with great gas mileage for a daily driver.

Good car, awful cheap paint

I have owned this car for about two years now and I have to say that the paint Ford uses on these cars is sooo cheap. I take excellent care of my car and drive it sparingly. After about six months, I had tiny rust spots all over! DO NOT buy this car if you are looking for a quality paint job that will last.

Reliable car at a great price

I think this is a great vehicle to buy for everyone. Whether you are a new car buyer like me or some who needs a cheap car with good gas mileage, its got it. As for features and styling it doesn't really have it in my eye. Again this is a style to hit a broad audience since it does have everything for a broad audience. Safety I believe it does have. I just wrecked my car over a 8' ditch and the only thing that really happened of concern is it needs a new lower control arm and front and rear alignment. But neither me or my friend were hurt. I would recommend buying it but remember its a Ford at a lower price not a Maybach. But all in all I like the car. Especially all you lucky people who decide to buy the new 08'.

Outstanding Value and Good Performance

I really wasn't sure I wanted to get rid of my old reliable Ford truck until I test drove the 2007 Focus. I was looking for a more economical ride and I found it. The Focus is surprisingly comfortable to drive. Good power, surprisingly quiet, smooth transmission. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for great value in an economical car.

Better than the First Gen... To an Extent.

Own a 07 SES. The only option I do not have is a Sunroof and Street Appearance Package 1 or 2. Had an 02 Focus SPI with nothing fancy on it but it has Performance everything; Just a fare Warning if you buy this vehicle, the PZEV model like the one I have has some restrictive components thus it delivers 6 less HP than the original Duratec engine. This Vehicle is best legendary for it independant sport suspension and great handling. If you want more out of a Ford Focus, I suguest you buy the Mazda 3 also; which it's basically Ford Focuses cousin equipped with Variable Valve Timing which it's not avaliable on the Ford Focus at all. All in all I have been a great satisfied Escort and Focus owner for a good while.

Ford Can Still Build Cars!

What a great little car! I commute 80 miles round trip 5 days a week and get 450 miles on one tank of fuel. It may not be leading edge anymore but if you want a reliable, thrifty, comfortable commuter car this Ford will get r done!

I don't own one but had as a "loaner-vehicle"

This car is ok. I received this as a loaner while my Ford 500 was being fixed from deer damage. Great gas mileage and easy to drive. Couple of things that would drive me nuts: turn signal sounds like a cricket, cup holder location is useless, wiper relay clicks everytime wiper activates, back seats don't give enough room even for my kids who are 3 and 5. Overall this car is nice for being a budget friendly gas sipper. It is a cheaper car so that needs to be kept in mind. I prefer my 500 by far, but if I were still in college or was just flipping burgers for a career this would do the trick.
