Awesome

I bought a 2008 escape hybrid from a government auction-it was used as a fire department vehicle in Denver Colorado. The hybrid version is the best in snow and bad weather due to its extra battery weight of 300lbs over the rear tires. Overall I haven’t had any real issues except for having to replace the hybrid battery that you can get a rebuilt better than oem for a fraction of what ford would charge to replace. This vehicle is awesome and will go just about anywhere and is good on gas for an suv.

Saved my life

This was my first car, and I’m honestly looking for another one. I got into a car accident where a pickup truck hit my corner and ended up flipping me and my two passengers upside down. We all walked out with little to no injuries.

Terrible Brakes

The braking system is dangerous and costly, a recall needs to be issued immediately. I nearly lost my life and Ford wants $5000.00 to fix the horrible design of the braking system, shame on you Ford🤬🤬

Awesome milage in the city!

This car is great! Great milage in the city but not as fast/powerful in highways (could be faster, but it's great). If you don't drive for too long the hybrid battery might die - which it could be very expensive to replace.

Mine is over 300k miles and still going strong. I was not surprised when I heard many escape hybrid taxi reach half million miles with no major repairs.

if you own it get rid of it quick

The brake system is costly to repair it is not worth keeping. If you had the year below or the year after the system is different. 2008 are oddballs the HCU goes out the part on the street is from 900 to 1300. Ford Garage want 5k to repair. You can lose your brakes and nothing you can do but get rid of it on a trade-in as I just did. And because dealers know the issues of this year they will not give you much because they are going to use it as a write off anyway. My advice if you are looking to get one do not go near a 2008.

Love the gas mileage

An SUV, 4WD that gets 25 mpg? Yes! I lived taking it off road. Never let me down. Wish I could find another one, but the new ones have totally different body style.
