Excellent car overall, spoiled by horrible seats

The car shines in almost every aspect, but unfortunately the driving experience as a whole is completely ruined by the MOST uncomfortable front seats I have ever sat in, in any car I’ve ever owned. These seats are specific to the Titanium trim only and while many users have been signaling this for years, it seems Ford chose to turn a deaf ear and it continues to install them despite the increasing number of harsh complaints. The seats are way too narrow even for a slim-fit person, the side bolsters are overly tall and stiff, cutting into the thighs thus making any position really painful after only about 20-30 minutes in the car. Furthermore, the entire seat is awkwardly tilted backwards, so the knees are always higher than the hip, no matter what adjustment one tries. My legs get numb after 20-30 in the car, and that’s when the whole driving experience gets ruined. Positives: - Excellent implementation of all “new” safety features, - Very spacious interior, consistent with all previous Edge models. - Good handling in sharp turns even on uneven or slippery roads, - Excellent brakes, - Impressive power from the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, - Better than expected gas mileage on highway driving (relative to its weight), even at increased speeds. - Responsive and ergonomic infotainment, - Navigation is better than most competitor's, - Phenomenal LED headlights, making driving at night safe and quite satisfying. Negatives: - Horrible front seats making the Edge the most uncomfortable car ever, - Somewhat rough downshifting which is being felt just before coming to a complete stop as a series of jerks, - Poor gas mileage in city driving, making the 2.0L engine equipped Edge to burn slightly more fuel in the city than its 3.5L V6 counterpart. - Narrow sun visors, making them useless when heading towards the sun. - No transparency from Ford regarding the potential sludge & carbon buildup on and around the intake valves in the 2.0 L Direct Injection engine with turbocharger. While there are a few after-market solution trying to address and mitigate the progressive carbon buildup, Ford negates the issue and doesn’t support any proposed solution. I would recommend AGAINST buying the car, exclusively due to the seats.

Most uncomfortable front seats in a car I've owned

I love the car in most every respect BUT the front seats, which are beyond horrible: too narrow, overly tall and stiff bolsters, awkward titled back position. My legs get numb after 20-30 in the car. Positives: excellent implementation of all safety features, good handling, excellent brakes, impressive power from the 2.0L Ecoboost engine, responsive and ergonomic infotainment, navigation is better than most competitor's, roomy, phenomenal LED headlights Negatives: horrible front seats making the Edge by far the most uncomfortable car ever, somewhat rough downshifting which is being felt just before coming to a complete stop as a series of jerks, poor gas mileage in the city. In fact it burns more gasoline than a V6 engine would, in the city. Narrow sun visors, making them useless when heading towards the sun.

Lots of room for the family

We traded a Ford Escape for this vehicle. Much, much roomier! The Edge drives extremely smooth and has excellent gas mileage for the size of vehicle.

Most comfortable car I've ever owned

I'll try to keep this short. I was a very satisfied Mazda owner. I wanted an SUV but neither Mazda SUVs had the leg room I needed. I didn't know what to do. I stumbled across the Ford Edge and it had everything I was looking for. I got the Titanium model. Best feature is the stereo. I am very into music and sound. This is the best stereo system i have ever owned, whether in my car or home. The stereo is from Bang & Olufsen. Wow! You have to hear it. The massive sun roof, phenomenal! I love having a combination lock, so that i don't have to drag my keys around. The app is amazing; can start the car from anywhere in the world. The ambient lighting is so cool. The safety features are flat out amazing. I love opening the trunk by waving my foot under the bumper. The seats are amazingly comfortable. Finally, the ride is fantastic. This car is so smooth and comfortable. Believe it or not, there is much more i can say about this but i'm sure you don't want to read anymore. The car was about 100.00 per month less than the Acura RDX (which i originally wanted) and comes with much more. I never thought i would be an American car guy but this car is so nice.
