Purchased this vehicle used in mid-2024 with 42K miles.

Purchased this vehicle used in mid-2024 with 42K miles. Third owner. There is virtually no learning curve when switching from an ICE vehicle to the Fiat 500e. Despite its tiny, ultra compact exterior, it provides substantial interior room for two fairly large people (6’5”/290 lb and 6’2”/230 lb). Headroom is excellent - better than the majority of ICE vehicles. Legroom is good given that I have a 35” inseam. Shoulder room is adequate for two large males. In summary, the Fiat 500e is amazingly comfortable transportation for two large people. But no one is riding in the backseat unless the driver and front passenger are 5’6” or less. Cargo is, as you would expect, is quite limited, although I have found it to be adequate for daily activities with the rear seats folded. Performance is peppy up through 60-70 mph. The air conditioner has an auto-temperature feature and works well. The factory sound system is excellent. And the braking system is very smooth and predictable and transitions seamlessly between regenerative braking and physical braking at 6 mph and below. I absolutely love the Fiat 500e as a local commuter.

An Incredible Little Beast

I’ve had this car for 6 years now and it still performs as good as the day I bought it. It’s quick at acceleration, the best car I’ve ever driven for turns and handling and ZERO maintenance! I took it to the dealership last year for any needed upkeep, the dealership specialist said everything was fine. No break work needed, no alternators, timing belts, battery changes, I’ve never had a car that required no upkeep, it’s amazing. I had bodywork finished on my Fiat 500e due to another driver backing into my car. I rented a BMW and a Tesla, the Fiat 500e easily handles the best, it can zoom past traffic and glide into parking spaces easily. The BMW choked at corners and low speeds and I felt like I was turning a boat while driving it, it felt like the BMW was downgrade compared to the 500e. /rant over Fiat 500e xxxx yeah!

Best deal on an EV for style and price

The way I understand it, Fiat/Chrysler had to sell an electric car to meet CA fleet requirements, so they put a Bosch motor and a battery pack into their Fiat 500, and desire the high price ($33,000 or so) they still lost $14,000 on each car, all so they could sell their overpriced Jeeps. So in 2017 this was a $47k car being sold for $33k. Now you can buy it for under $10k. Additionally, none of these batteries have ever been charged over a level 2 charger. The car doesn’t do fast charging, which degrades the battery. So the battery is probably going to be in good shape. AND since it only has a range of ~80 miles, a lot of these from 2017 will only have been driven by people who weren’t commuting with them. You can find them with less than 10k miles on them. Anyway, my daily commute is twelve miles, no one ever rides with me, and this car is perfect for it. Italian design that looks about a hundred times better than a Chevy spark, German motor that’s probably worth more than the car, acceleration and handing like a go-cart: I love it.

Zippy Fun EV

Bought my 2017 500e on a whim in 2020 and I am so glad I did. Still under warranty from Chrysler/Fiat until 2025. This Tri-Coat Orange with White accents comes with a sunroof and the original sticker was in the glove box stating the 2017 500e was $34400 + Taxes/Fees new. I picked this up for $8000 + Taxes/Fees at a dealer with 22k miles on it then got a $1000 rebate from So Cal Edison for buying an Electric Car. So $7000 for a $34K car 3 years later... Great Deal. Why not! The 500e is just like new since it was a lease return from Chrysler/Fiat the owner took great care of it. What a great fun car to drive. Fast off the line and perfect for a commuter car around town. I just plug it in at night, like my cell phone, and it's ready to go in the morning. I use the standard 120v for charging so takes longer but the I am no hurry as I said plug it in when I get home in the afternoon and ready to go the next day. This 500e is a hoot to drive leaving most cars in the rear view mirror. Highly recommend this Fiat 500e to anyone that just needs a car to drive around a city or commuter to work you get about 85 miles on a charge.

Cutest Quickest Cheap Car

I love this little car. The shorter range is not for everyone but if people were really honest about how far they actually drive in a day more people would realize they dont need a range of 300 miles to get along just fine. I drive about 20-30 miles a day. I charge the car to about 80% (with Level 1, to maintain battery life) every other day. This works out great. No, I cannot take it on long trips, but renting a car is not hard and the money I save on gas and maintenance pays for a rental every so often. This car's comfort technology is very basic so if you need all the bells and whistles of a modern over-complicated car, then this is not for you. There is no standard back-up camera. There is no dual-climate control. There is no lane-assist. This is a very basic car. I have had to adjust to no back-up camera, but humans existed for decades with no back-up cameras. The stereo is better than you would expect in a budget car and the bluetooth connection usually works (I have had a handful of times it would not connect). The biggest issue for me is the driving position. If my legs are a comfortable distance from the pedals my arms are a little more outstretched than I like. If you have short arms you need to test drive one first. This car is quick. I can beat just about any other car 0-40. Past that....not so much. But in the city you only need to get to the next stoplight so who cares? In conclusion, this is a great little car that is perfect for city living. Off-lease versions can be had for cheap. I recommend for city dwellers if you have a place to charge up and as a 2nd car for 2-car families.

Perfect Compact Car

I was skeptical of purchasing an electric car at first, however, the car lives up to positive standards. The car is extremely quiet, smooth, and safe. It comes with all the airbags you would find in a normal full size sedan. People need to be less skeptical of an electric car, including myself. I’m happy with my purchase.

bought one from PM Stanley, expect a BIG prep fee

I went to PM Stanley because compare to others the prize appears good, and so it seems. When you get to finance is when you find out they have this $1600 fee that you have to pay, so it ends up being more expensive then other ones on Cars.com. Unfortunately there is no other dealer around here in Fort Worth Tx. Be careful. You would be better off buying a Nissan Leaf EV with fast charger.

Absolute terrible car...dealing with Chrysler capitol was worst lease experience of my life. Extremely poor range. Maximum 80 miles per charge. Very poor build quality.
