Sporty SUV
I have about 6000 miles on my 2012 Durango R/T. Love it. It is a great driving experience. I love the acceleration of the Hemi. The fit and finish are well done inside and out. This is about the sportiest family hauler you are going to find. It's like driving a Charger. So if you haul a lot of cargo and kids and may need to tow something, yet want a sporty ride when you're not-I highly recommend this Dodge SUV.

Love the new Durango!
Ok, I have owned my Durango Citadel for a year now and feel I can give it an honest review. I have covered 12,000 miles during the past year and must say, of all the SUVs I have owned, 2 of them being the previous generation Durango, this is the best by far. Other's include GMC Suburban, Honda Pilot, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. My Durango is AWD, 5.7 powered and has all options with the exception of the flip down TV. (My last Durango had this opition and was never used in 85,000 miles of driving) I had owned this vehicle for a couple of months before heading out on a 2K plus mile trip from DFW to Lexington, KY and back last Christmas and it had 1200 miles on the odo when I left. I knew the highway fuel milage would get better as the miles increased and indeed it did. I averaged 20.3mpg on the trip north, with 3 adults and our luggage, enough clothes to last us 12 days. Luggage storage was not an issue, nor was the numerous Christmas gift packages already wrapped. On the return trip, the mileage went up to 21.8, carrying the same load, driving at or slightly above the posted speed limits. I recently took it on a work trip from DFW to Toledo, loaded with enough luggage to carry 2 weeks of clothing for one person. This time the trip north netted 22.3 average, with a high of 23.7. The return trip netted an average of 22.4 and included some stop and go traffic in Arkansas that created an hour delay between Memphis and Little Rock. Without the stop and go, I sincerely believe the return mileage could have been 23 plus, a phenomonal number for a vehicle this size with AWD and 360 hp. I use this SUV to pull an 18 foot open, aluminum car trailer, with either a C6 Corvette, or a Honda CRX Si, to and from track events. Mileage towing averages in the 14 to 15 mpg range. It has plenty of power and torque to pull either vehicle, and is hardly noticable in terms of drivability. Overall, this is an excellent SUV and I would reccommend it to anyone with a desire or need for a semi luxury SUV. The interior and options provided with the Citadel model is well worth the extra few bucks in my opinion, and certainly enhances the driving pleasure of this vehicle.

Solid so far.... Really like options
I bought a used 2012 Dodge Durango Crew a few months ago. I picked the Dodge for one reason, it had all the options we wanted at an affordable price point. The explorer didn't have push button start, auto liftgate, or the tow package I needed in the XLT package. I also wanted home-link, as well as auto A/C which my truck had. I can't believe Ford didn't include Homelink with the XLT. I didn't realize how quite the Durango ride was until I got back into our 2006 Honda Pilot. I also use the auto liftgate all the time, very handy to have. Radio has been very straight forward with the exception of the Ipod connections, bluetooth sounds muttled. The rest like phone pairing was simple. I have used every feature and really appreciate auto climate controls for front and rear. My only complaint is the transmission gearing. It feels and drives like a truck. No pep, very truck-like. If they nail this new 8 speed tranny next May, I would like to trade up for that if it makes the truck have better throttle response. The rest of the Durango is perfect, don't change a thing! Thanks Dodge!

Too many issues so little time
I have to say I am very disappointed with my 2012 Durango R/T. Its had alignment issues(took 8 times for the dealer to get it right), and the steering wheel has a wobble in it. Go on the forumns and you will see these are very common problems. In my month and a half of ownership(3500kms) the vehicle has been in the shop for almost half of that. The Hemi is a gas guzzler around town(my own fault as I knew this before purchase) and the stereo system is terrible. There is nothing premium about it as the bass and midbass are non existant. The amount of rattles and squeeks in this new vehicle blows my mind(doors, dash, roof liner). I'm scared to think of how bad this unit will annoy me at 20000kms if it is already this bad. From the lot the shocks were very stiff but they appear to be softening up as the ride has got a little smoother. I ordered the Mopar molded splash guards and the fronts are a terrible fit with a large gap in them. Outside of the exterior looks, towing capacity and V8 power this vehicle is a disappointment. When you read all of the so called expert reviews you think this vehicle is the real deal. However this is far from the truth, as the above issues start showing up very quickly. I would not purchase another Durango if I could do it all over again.

Terrific Ride,Comfortable,roomy large SUV
I and my wife looked, test drove at least 8 different SUV type vechicles .What a job that was,I don't like car shopping. After 40 years of marriage ,I have been buying my wife cars a long TIME.This is the ONLY SUV she'll try. We got her in The drivers seatAnd after a couple of trips Around the Dealerships lot,she was ready to fly(drive). We took her out on the hi way and she loved being up off the ground saying she could see what was around her while driving down the road. She loved all the toys the Crew Model has.I personally don't like 4-wheelers,I drive a tractor trailer 75'long with my trailer of 53'in length and have 2-steps up to get in.The Durango is just the right hight no step needed !!!! To sum it all up we are very happy with our new 2012 Dodge Durango,Crew. Buy this one,the extra $10,000 for the Citidal is a waste. The Crew meets and exceeded our expectations, gret Value for the money. Mr & Mrs. Lightfoot,Southwest,Pa.

the best 3 row i have owned
This SUV (Citadel model) has surpassed my expectations. I have owned a LR3 Land Rover (which I loved) and a Mercedes R350 (both cost much more than the Durango Citadel). I was hesitant to buy a domestic Dodge SUV, but it?s been the best driving SUV we have owned. I prefer it over the LR3 (minus it the off road capabilities). The interior is great quality, and I average over 22 MPG highway on longer trips (impressive for the V8)

LIVES UP TO THE ADVERTISING
I PURCHASED A 2012 DODGE DURANGO AWD R/T. I NOW HAVE ABOUT 3000 MILES ON IT. I CHOSE SECOND ROW CAPTAINS CHAIRS. THEY ONLY COME IN LEATHER. IN THE R/T BLACK ONLY. THE HEMI IS A BIT THIRSTY. 13 MPG CITY. AFTER 2000 MILES IT HAS COME UP TO ABOUT 15 MPG CITY. THE RIDE IS SOLID NOT SOFT. THE QUALITY OF THE INTERIOR IS EXCELLENT. RED STICHING ON BLACK! AIR COND IS COLD AND THE SEATS ARE COMFORTABLE. DROVE 850 MILES TO AND FROM LOS ANGELES IN ONE DAY WITH NO PROBLEM. CRUISES AT 80 MPH WITH EASE. GREAT STEREO SYSTEM. THE RADIO SCREEN IS A BIT TOO MUCH AND TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO. YOU HAVE TO READ THE MANUEL A FEW TIMES TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO FULLY WORK THE SOUND SYSTEM. ON THE HIGHWAY BETWEEN 75-80 MPH GETS 19 MPG. THERE IS A LAG IN DOWN SHIFTS AND BETWEEN SHIFTS. THE SIZE IS JUST RIGHT FOR PARKING AND HOLDS SIX PEOPLE VERY WELL. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO PLAY WITH YOU DO GET DISTRACTED. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLIMB UP TO GET IN. DODGE HIT A HOME RUN WITH THE DURANGO R/T.

It has been great so far!
I have the base model with after market leather and dvd. The UConnect is alright, but I have a few complaints with it. Getting into the 3rd row is a little difficult. It would be nice if the middle row could slide back and forward. I average 26 on the highway, 20 in the city and about 23 combined. It drives good for a large vehicle, but the visiblity is poor. There are a lot of obstructions in the vehicle and the side mirrors don't seem to cut it. I find myself having to lean forward to look around before changing lanes. I wish I had gotten the 430 radio, but the dealership hauled in one with a 130 radio (base model). It is not very good! It is better than nothing, but I would highly recommend getting no less than the 430! Other than that, I love the vehicle. This is our first SUV and the experience has been good. I know it sounds like nothing but bad, but I could write all day about the good. I figured people would rather know what I disliked. I do recommend the vehicle! I always get complements when people see it.

Durango Citadel Hemi
We have now owned our Durango for six months and 12K miles. The build quality of the vehicle is excellent as are the interior materials ? especially the leather in the Citadel model. We have had zero problems with the vehicle. The technology in the citadel model is remarkable. Our favorite features being the adaptive cruise control and integrated Sirius traffic/GPS which came in handy on two very long vacation drives. The performance is good with the hemi, though it is geared a bit tall which negates the 360HP somewhat. Handling and braking are excellent ? especially for heavy vehicle. We average 15 in mixed driving and have averaged over 21 hwy on our two trips. Not great, but at least it meets or exceeds the 13/20 estimate. We selected the Durango after shopping the Explorer, Highlander, Pilot and Traverse.

Great Mutilpurpose Car
We needed a car large enough to transport a large number of people with good towing capacity. The Durango has the utility to do both. The car provides a great ride and tows well while getting surpisingly good gas milage.
